This was a fabulous Murder mystery that kept me guessing
Reviewed: 03-17-24
I really enjoy the Major Lenox series, each book seems to be getting better in plot and entertainment. This specific book the latest kept me guessing.
I actually did not pick the murderer out until it was revealed, which is rare I typically can uncover who the murder is with murder/mystery books,
This is a clean, yet very hard subject book to listen to.(due to a mentally unstable child)
I hope you enjoy this as much as I did, and I love the audio version. The reader does an incredible job.

Story
Is an imposter robbing you of God's love? Many Christians have bought into the lie that we are worthy of God's love only when our lives are going well. If our families are happy or our jobs are meaningful, life is a success. But when life begins to fall through the cracks and embarrassing sins threaten to reveal our less-than-perfect identity, we scramble to keep up a good front to present to the world - and God. We cower and hide until we can rearrange the mask of perfection and look good again.

introspective thoughts and facts
Reviewed: 10-03-20
I have followed Mr. Sowell since the 1980s, his own words from his life observations or most refreshing. I have wondered for sometime what kind of a life experience would make space for his uncompromising character, integrity and focus on truth not color of skin, race and assumptions held by a seemingly media driven liberal agenda in our country today. I am amazed at the struggle to find people in position of political influence to hear and understand what he has to say. This book and his life are pushing me, no encouraging and reinforcing my personal perspective that those that realize they have choices of responsibility for themselves and take the actions needed to live in truth not as the establishment would have you believe but as one human being to another in respect, ones own life and the life of others.

Story
Bruno is a former soldier who has embraced the pleasures and slow rhythms of country life - living in his restored shepherd's cottage; patronizing the weekly market; sparring with, and basically ignoring, the European Union bureaucrats from Brussels. He has a gun but never wears it; he has the power to arrest but never uses it. But then the murder of an elderly North African who fought in the French army changes everything and galvanizes Bruno's attention.

a well formulated story with characters

the detail of relationships from a community decades and centuries old. the character development is reminiscent of a different perspective from one of an american perspective on community. The closest I can say is a one of new England small town with families going back decades if not centuries as well. The charm and warmth of.what matters in life in living with the horrors of a countryside community experienced in several conflicts, this feels real although I have not researched the events the celebrations are known. There always seems to be more to the story behind the celebration of the end of a conflict wrapped pain suffering and.over coming of these violent conflicts.
