Good story but about 10 hours too long. Starting to get hard to remember all the characters as well and they keep introducing more.

Story
Few know the warship’s actual name. But everyone has heard the rumors. The PUV James Keeling can do something no other vessel in existence can do—slip into another dimension, travel undetected, then re-emerge onto our plane and surprise enemy targets. But the thing that makes the Crypt unique also makes it a nightmare for those onboard; interdimensional travel causes hallucinations, violent behavior, and psychotic breakdowns. Keeling could be the Union’s greatest weapon, a game-changing asset that can defeat the bloodthirsty zealots of the Purist Nation, the Union’s mortal enemy.

Ray Porter is the best in the business!
The book starts off kinda slow and is a little confusing with all the different characters being introduced all at once. It was hard to remember who was who for a while and I wasn’t really sure if I liked the story. However once you get acclimated to everything the last few hours are really rewarding and looks like the start of a good series.
Question
If John was from Texas or tried to retire there, then how did he not know where Nebraska is?
Last line of the book, Crystals? Had to google it. Why not say cocoon?

The only book series I own that I revisit yearly and never get tired of. Honestly I really hope this never gets a movie or streaming service deal. I’ve seen how many great books get butchered by Hollywood.

I don’t read a lot of historical stories but I’m glad I listen to this one after seeing the Movie trailer for this story under the same title. This was a social injustice that should never be forgotten.

The characters in this book are deep, like a onion with so many layers that are slowly peeled back with every new addition to this series.
I look forward to the next book and the return of a main character that has been missing for a while.

Story
The world outside has grown toxic, the view of it limited, talk of it forbidden. The remnants of humanity live underground in a single silo. But there are always those who hope, who dream. These are the dangerous people, the residents who infect others with their optimism. Their punishment is simple. They are given the very thing they want: They are allowed to go outside.

I got and listen to the original version of this book around 10 years ago. While the story was good the main complaint was the lady who narrated it. It was so bad that a couple of years later they hired another woman to redo it and it still was hard to listen to. (Please note I did love the 2nd books original narration by TGR.)I have listened one of Edoardo narrated books in the past. I think it was a fictional WW2 holocaust story and it was fantastic. I’ve listened to the first couple of hours to this book and it’s a night and day difference in quality. The Story it self is very good and that why it’s getting it own Apple TV series.

Story
Of course, if there were only one thing under Liscor, there would be far less to fear. However, the dungeon continues to be a threat. At the same time, Goblins continue to roam northern Izril, but not all of them are as hostile to people as Tremborag or the Goblin Lord. Will the Unseen Emperor of Riverfarm make that distinction, however? A reckoning is coming as old faces and new reemerge. And all the while, The Wandering Inn is still serving food and respite and even plays to adventurers and Antinium alike. But something is coming from the dungeons. And it—they—are hungry.

Had to ask but this book series is really starting to mature strongly. The characters have become very attachable and it even starts feeling like G.O.T when to groups that we all have watch raise and grow, go to war with each other. Looking forward to the next book.
