Slow but worth a listen

A space murder mystery who done it. I found myself caught between boredom and interest and interest one out in the end. While I wouldn't recommend this over some other books, it was definitely worth a listen and I'm glad I finished it.

I've listened to several of the genre and this is most definitely a must for anyone interested in vr world. It takes a unique approach to the "trapped" in another world and I couldn't stop listening from start to finish. Can't wait for the next in the series to come out.

Another fantastic addition to Drew's arsenal
Reviewed: 11-27-17
in the few months since I've discovered his works, Drew Hayes has without a doubt surprised me at every corner wrapping me with tails of superheroes, vampire, and magical pears. with each book I read of his I fall more and more in love with the author and his creativity.
with the coming finale of super powereds, this book offers a fantastic opportunity to begin a series a new. taking everyday fairy tales in a magical world and injecting these three scoundrels, I'm surprised I even found an opportunity to take a break. this is of course another must-read for fans of the author or lovers of fairy tales you'll love this unique and creative take.

Story
Jason logs into Awaken Online fed-up with reality. He's in desperate need of an escape, and this game is his ticket to finally feeling the type of power and freedom that are so sorely lacking in his real life. Awaken Online is a brand new virtual reality game that just hit the market, promising an unprecedented level of immersion. Yet Jason quickly finds himself pushed down a path he didn't expect. In this game, he isn't the hero. There are no damsels to save. There are no bad guys to vanquish.

A bit slow, but picks up once he gets going

The story is solid, the characters early on is a bit painful to care about at first. Once he gets into Awaken Online it picks up and I couldn't stop until I finished listening to the whole thing!

Unfortunately it also seems that he's no longer the only vampire to appreciate the up-and-coming city of Winslow, Colorado. A new clan of vampires is moving in, and they aren't well known for tolerating outsiders in their territory.

Story
At an exclusive school somewhere outside of Arlington, Virginia, students aren't taught history, geography, or mathematics - at least not in the usual ways. Instead, they are taught to persuade. Here the art of coercion has been raised to a science. Students harness the hidden power of language to manipulate the mind and learn to break down individuals by psychographic markers in order to take control of their thoughts. The very best will graduate as "poets": adept wielders of language who belong to a nameless organization that is as influential as it is secretive.

Very interesting story, but somewhat expected
Reviewed: 07-20-15
Loved the premise and had me listening till the very end. I wouldn't say it's the most nail biting / edge of my seat book. But it defiantly had be wanting to finish it asap. The double perspective following the two main characters and finally intertwining at the end had me trying to predict how or when the would mix until the middle of the book, then carried on until the very end. A great listen.
