Story
My name is Nova Stone and I was a ghost in my own life until a knock at the door changed my whole world. Applying for guardianship of my infant half-brother was a no brainer, even if I hadn't known he existed. But that was before I met his uncles; two pro ice hockey players, and a CEO. They wanted to take Huey home with them and they were willing to pay me millions of dollars for the privilege. When that didn't work, they managed to convince me that it would be better for my brother–and for me–if I moved into their Ann Arbor mansion.

Likeable Characters, Unsatisfying Ending
Reviewed: 05-23-25
Narration was great. Both narrators did a good job. Spoilers ahead
The fmcs resistance to help got kind of annoying as we moved deeper into the book. I liked the beginning to mid of the book and I was excited for the setup of the relationships and how they came together and everything. A bit of drama happened and it seemed like the fmc was going to get through it, she was getting advice from friends and became somewhat introspective and then BAM she.. runs away? And the mmcs let her?…idk it was a huge let down. They had trust issues in the beginning and had worked through some relationship hurdles and communication and stuff. The fmc opened herself up to friends to get perspectives and then just ignores all of that. It’s one of those things where the story had a great build up and it could have gone one way where they faced this dramatic crazy stalker situation together and persevered. But instead all that build up just fizzled out and then she makes herself miserable and sleep deprived for the rest of the book just pretending she didn’t just ghost 3 men with a pretty strong connection with her charge. The mmcs are miserable, they all unravel.. Then like the last 20 mins they get back together and decide to become a fam and defeat the stalker or whatever. She faces an unhinged assailant by herself, and is saved last min thanks to her neighbor None of it happened in time to make any real emotional impact. Idk. Good start, frustrating ending, good narration, good poly representation where the men have a deep bond as well without sword crossing (which I totally love btw just wasn’t in this book lol) anyways I don’t think I’d read this again but if third act breakups don’t bother you as much as they do me, it’s entertaining and himbo MMC was a great character, loved him.

Change Mind About Tiger

Author is a genius for having a preview of the next book at the end of the book. I did not want to read Tigers story at all, I found him annoying, arrogant, and his character was always against mates and tried talking everyone out of it lol it just annoyed me. BUT HERE WE ARE lol
Le sigh. I am really happy I read this book. I like the FMC and I saw a different side of Tiger that I really adorded. The FMC is laid back, open minded, but has been hurt by previous relationships.. so kinda perfect for our commitment-phobe turned possessive Tiger. Spoilers The author almost suffocated the fmc like 4 times, it was a pretty consistent theme in the book lol I wasn’t a fan of Tigers freak out, it furthered the plot n stuff but damn she’s already been all hurt like idk it was just so sad.. turned out fine tho obviously. Took them forever to communicate their feelings..
Overall the book was good. I’d read it again. Narration was well done.

One look at Brawn, and Becca is wondering how he’d look without his clothes. He’s also instantly attracted to her, but has sworn never to touch a human female. They just aren’t sturdy enough for the type of rough sex Brawn enjoys most. When he learns he’ll be living under the same roof with Becca, Brawn simply sees it as a chance to broaden his knowledge of humans. Hopefully he can do so while keeping his hands off her.… His good intentions go astray when they’re both kidnapped and locked together in a cage.

Entertaining but unfulfilling

Spoilers The story was pretty good, the FMC and MMC meet thru her dad, end up getting kidnapped together, lightly tortured, and pregnant. The entire plot is basically preg trope + miscommunication. I like this writer, and the story is written well and I could not put it down but it did not make me happy.. the ending is technically an HEA but after everything that the FMC and MMC went thru both together and apart just didn’t make me happy. They end up together and I like both characters but there is a lot missing. For example, the fmc dad lied to a bunch of people leading to the FMC and MMC not talking to eachother for 9 weeks while the FMC is pregnant. This never really gets resolved. He admits he lied to other people but not to the MCs. The fmc was alone during a high risk pregnancy, sick, and scared, and the MMC was super depressed and it was never addressed that the reason they went thru all of that is because her dad is an overprotective selfish a-hole. The MMC gave up way too easily imo too, he was so aggressive and persistent but he’s told she doesn’t wanna see him and he gives up? I get he didn’t wanna cause her more pain and it’s a complicated situation but it was very painful to listen to… these two didn’t get together for real until the last like 10 mins of the book. And the only reason they ended up today is because BREEZE is a very very good friend, brave as heck, and an excellent communicator. I want a book about her, she is honestly the best side character in this universe. Anyways, I just didn’t really feel accomplished after finishing this story. Justice and Jessie have still got to be my fave. the story is good and if you have no qualms about the above I would recommend reading it. It is entertaining and I enjoyed myself even if I was really annoyed. My heart hurt for both of the MCs at different points and the ending did not fix it.

Strong Greek MMC, Fierce Irish FMC
Reviewed: 04-11-25
Fmc is strong, competent, intelligent, brash, stubborn, a bit messy and spits fire. MMC is possessive, intense, stubborn, protective, cocky, and straight laced. Story-marriage of convenience between mafia families. FMC is completely blindsided. MMC put the deal together but doesnt really want this (outside of obvious attraction). FMC/MMC banter is great and engaging. Their growth together and getting to know one another is fun to read.
The MMC is a bit arrogant and stubborn but puts effort in and the fmc is a bit traumatized from her life being pulled out from under her and acts out. She doesn’t do anything too crazy but she isn’t as committed in the beginning for obvious reasons. I didn’t like the MMC ignoring her for a week the day after the wedding, FMC did too (and started it) but imo MMC had a lot more time to acclimate to the idea and should have extended more olive branches. She had literally found out like days before. She had also almost just died so there’s that too lol
I thought I was gonna hate her fam but I ended up really liking them outside of the whole blindsiding.. MMC fam was cool too, I’m excited to hear MMCs sisters story. I think FMC sister story will be a body guard/mafia princess age gap trope so that should be fun.
Fmc has trauma from her past and a man with a vendetta against her, and the MMC is mostly navigating his mafia and the new alliance. I like the characters, they all have their own little quirks and contribute to the story well. Spicy scenes were amazinggg! MMC is fantastic with the talking her thru it. Having both POVs thru out the book was also fun. No preg tropes, no cheating, no other m/w, HEA, found family, marriage of convenience, spice 4.5-5, violence 3-3.5, satisfying ending. She throws up on his shoes lol

Interesting Story; Gawd Awful Fmc
Reviewed: 04-10-25
I’d do 3.5 on this if I could. Basically a Human female is abducted by galactic traffickers and taken to another planet. She’s sold to grapey uggos, rescued by an apex predator native to the planet, wooed by said native, and then kidnapped by another of her mates, she presumably has three at this point but is only accepting one.
The world building is interesting and so are all of the character descriptions and different aliens, etc. interesting anatomy, really kept me intrigued. MMCs are alright, we don’t hear much from them. We’ve got the bat-like native with the Cheshire Cat mouth who doesn’t speak English and doesn’t communicate well but is actually super intelligent and devoted. We’ve got cop guy who really hasn’t made much of an impact yet, but his little octopus thing seems cute and he’s kinda funny. And then there’s moth guy who’s imperial ass picked the wrong girl in the beginning and has been paying for it since-his life totally sucks the worst out of the three he’s got my sympathy.. The fmc is probably the worst fmc I have ever had to read personality wise. She is a moron to the highest. Author wants us believing this chick owns her own business and has a masters degree? Absolutely not. She is by far the dumbest fmc I have ever read and the decisions she makes are so crazy it is impossible to believe she would ever survive this long. If bat guy wasn’t a magical healer generating unlimited lives for her, she probably wouldn’t have!! Someone else on here called her a dipshit and I couldn’t agree more. You will be frustrated as hell with her, I took breaks and switched books multiple times cause I could not stand her decisions or her observations on anything. I am still on the fence on whether or not I want to finish the series. At this moment, it’s a no, but I could change my mind and get curious after I read a few stronger fmcs to wash this one away. Curiosity might win out after the eye twitch wears off as the book is well written. World is cool, other characters are cool, anatomy is awesome, writing is great, narration is on point, story is fun and interesting. Fmc is almost unbearable.. So proceed with caution.

Strong FMC - Be Patient w/Him MMC
Reviewed: 01-28-25
FMC- romance.io tags were correct, this heroine is a badass thru and thru. Girls got some trauma, but she’s powerful and controlled. She stands up for herself and is incredibly self confident. I love reading her thoughts and feelings, she makes me feel her willpower thru the pages. She responded to some of these situations wayyy nicer than I would have which made me reflect on my own patience lol
MMC- be prepared you are about to listen to a man become aware of non-anger emotions in real time lol it’s glorious and as much as I had a deep distaste for his prejudice, listening to him learn and question his thoughts and choices and feel things he was confused about was awesome. I recommend thinking of him as more of a himbo to avoid thoughts of rooting for him to die lol cause this man tested me oooooof. he’s not my fave MMC by any measure but I don’t hate him.. I do think FMC can do so much better. I hope he improves in the next two books. We will see cause I am most certainly listening to them.
Plot is great!! FMC is a new vamp with superior smarts/power, is trapped in a bad situation and gets an opportunity to peace out. MMC is the heir to the vamp thrown, has semi-cool powers, is a very aggressive misogynist and heaux. They’re forced to work together by the very competent and cool(so freakin rare) vamp in charge. They’re coleaders of a new team that needs to prepare for an upcoming attack. All the vamps see women as lesser. It’s on the title but it’s also very drenched in the book. She whips them into shape, proves everyone wrong, and has a ton of rightly smug moments. I love it. MMC gets his ass handed to him multiple times. He grows a lot thru out the book but beware that icky taste of ick you got from him treating women like pocket cats doesnt really ebb much. He becomes pretty obsessed tho so you gotta love that.
I love Suzanne’s writing, I always do. Listen to it, you’ll like it, ima read the rest of the series, I know I am lol can’t even lie.

Meh.. Not My Fave

FMC was great, loved her personality. She was tough and confident and competent. She has fair morals and was a badass assassin with smarts and drive. I pictured Merida from brave the entire time.
3 MMC- Crux, loved him-wish we got more of him, his pov, and his errands. He was a friend to lover kinda trope, and he played it well. Still an idiot for waiting so long but his personality and silliness and protectiveness has me simping hard. Joha, meh, kinda bland character. He was nice enough and the memory abt them meeting as kids was cute. Bodyguard, liked him well enough. I liked his spicy scenes and protective side, it was cute. I woulda been got with just Cruz if this wasn’t an RH (which I love).
Spoilers Storyline is okay, the buildup to the end was interesting and entertaining. The characters had good banter and there was a lot of action. The last 20% is where I kinda fell off. The ending with mommy dearest felt unresolved, the intro with crazy bro came way too late in the story for me to care and his first act was killing her which furthered my disinterest in him. Speaking of, she’s dead for the last few chapters of the book before miraculously appearing to confront her bro. It just felt unnecessary to kill her for a few chapters and listen to her poor guys mourn her only for her to have been saved and conscious (didn’t escape my notice she didn’t inform her men she was alive for like a week??).. like poor Cruz he was ready to drown himself after avenging her like what if she didn’t get the revolution memo in time?? I like that she stayed and they all decided to rule together, wish there was more detail abt the changes being made and a couple more spicy scenes would have been cool.
I kinda liked it, it kept me entertained and the FMC was great but I felt a little empty after the end, like unfulfilled. I love ka knight fyi, I’ve read all her books, this one just fell flat for me. Maybe wait for a sale? Can’t wait for her court of beasts book to come out!!

He's gone from one bad decision to the next, and now the situation threatens to topple down around him. The good news is, Aurelia isn't responsible for hurting people. Overall plot is pretty cool. I like how the MCs met, the found family, the side characters, the travel and reasons for their forced proximity. I liked a lot about this duet except for the MCs lol
The FMC is kind, giving, fair, apparently gorgeous, powerful, and smart. She’s also insecure to the point of madness, naive, in denial more than not, childish in her insecurity, and lacks the ability to read context clues. She purposefully blinded herself to everything bad in her life and held onto that blindness until the bitter end. Some would love her endless hopefulness, but I found it frustrating. She had trauma, a lot of it, and she credits her metaphorical blindness to her reality for her survival which is a weird message to send. She was great with drugs and had a lot of knowledge in that area which was impressive. I liked the idea of failsafes.
The MMC is determined, dedicated, fierce, possessive, and powerful. He was also a dirty little liar and secret keeper throughout most of the book which left me feeling frustrated with him too! There was also a ton of buildup and drama for FMC to finally get her wolf and it left me feeling bitter towards MMC for waiting so long when it was totally fine. He also mated her without her knowing what it meant which seemed like such a bigger issue than the stuff he was trying to “protect” her from.
Storyline and writing were well done!
Preg trope fyi, towards the last 20%. Granny does not meet her end in a satisfying way, prep for that letdown.
Side characters were amazing, funny, supportive, and relatable. Narration was wonderful!

I loved this audiobook. Spice 3/5, Plot 5/5, FMC 5/5, MMC 4/5 (secrets - he’ll move to 5 once he mans up in the next book), Side Characters 5/5.
FMC is strong willed, funny, witty, laid back ish, powerful, and competent.
MMC is clever, powerful, obessessed, vengeful, devoted, and a dirty little secret keeper lol
Only thing that bugged me abt the book was MMCs distrust in FMCs tolerance for “unique” things. Him not trusting her with his secrets yet is annoying but realistic. I’m sure that changes in book 2.
Plot-FMC is too cool for her coven so they kick her out, immediately regret it, and proceed to try to get her back thru out the book (not for good reasons lol). FMC takes sanctuary in another city where she meets the immediately obsessed MMC. They do socialism correctly and the FMC and her coven get comfy pads and protection. FMC and MMC have mutual attraction to eachother which builds thru out the book. Old city’s leaders try to get FMC back and MMC just so happens to also hate old city leaders, so perfect tag team combo.
Lots of great twists and kept me engaged the whole time. I really enjoy Suzanne’s writing, so if you do too, jump right in the water is perfect!
Cat is a fantastic narrator, I love her work every time.

Gawd I loved this book. I was in the mood for a less angsty fantasy book with some great spice scenes, a badass competent FMC, and a grumpy powerful MMC who is absolutely obsessed with the FMC and damn this book had it all. He’s powerful, tortured, cold, and brutal. She’s powerful, sassy, competent AF, smart, and open minded. The FMC is very level headed and I loved that about her. Some FMCs annoy me with the whole “oh Mr morally grey MMC, I can’t believe you killed that person omg what have you done”, whereas this FMC is doing the killing with the MMC lol overall great listen. I was concerned the MMC was going to dilly dally a bit more about their connection but he accepted it pretty quick and his demon was all like “mine” n shit which we all love. There’s some funny lines n stuff in it too. I like the side characters too which I know have books later in the series. It’s third person which I know some people don’t like that much but it’s totally worth the listen even if you are usually a first person pov reader. I have no preference personally. Decent spice probably 🌶️🌶️🌶️🌶️.5. I did not find it to be overly spicy, I thought there was a lot of good plot. The world is pretty cool, the whole inner demon concept is refreshing and so far I really like it. They kinda refer to their demons as separate entities that are like attached to their souls, and so you get to experience them talk about their inner demons and communicate on their behalf, or have them come out during spicy scenes.. lol idk I liked it. Can’t wait to listen to the next one! Downloaded and paused to write this review.
