A little boring, at least at first. I haven't finished yet.
Reviewed: 12-29-24
I haven't finished yet but this book does a lot of telling and not enough showing. I wish the narration did less telling me about all the characters and showed us by the interactions and story. I'm a little bored which is disappointing because the premise sounded promising.

Disappointed

Only ten chapters in. Love the narrator but the story just falls flat. Wish I hadn't spent a money on it.

Story
Everything about my life is a lie. As a hidden twin princess, born second, I have only one purpose―to sacrifice my life for my sister if death comes for her. I’ve been living under the guise of a poor, obscure girl of no standing, slipping into the palace and into the role of the true princess when danger is present. Now the queen is dead and the ageless King Eidolon has sent my sister a gift―an eerily familiar gift―and a proposal to wed. I don’t trust him, so I do what I was born to do and secretly take her place on the eve of the coronation.

I really liked the story in the beginning but this book ended up being more about the romance and less about the adventure and actual story. I also felt like the romance happened too quickly. I think it only took them less than a week?

This book has a lot of themes kind of jumbled together. It doesn't always make the most sense. It's not a terrible story but I won't be continuing with the series.

Had potential but hard pass
Reviewed: 03-12-22
I should have known this book wasn't for me so maybe this one's my fault. I was hoping for more adventure and storytelling than romance and smut. The story had potential but I was disappointed that the majority of the book was all sex and no story. If I could have returned this book I 💯 would have.
