About this listen

Sam Becker loves—or, okay, likes—his job. Sure, managing a bed-and-bath retailer isn't exactly glamorous, but it's good work, and he gets on well with the band of misfits who keep the store running. He could see himself being content here for the long haul. Too bad, then, that the owner is an infuriating git.

Jonathan Forest should never have hired Sam. It was a sentimental decision, and Jonathan didn't get where he is by following his heart. Determined to set things right, Jonathan orders Sam down to London for a difficult talk…only for a panicking Sam to trip, bump his head, and maybe accidentally imply he doesn't remember anything?

Faking amnesia seemed like a good idea when Sam was afraid he was getting sacked, but now he has to deal with the reality of Jonathan's guilt—as well as the unsettling fact that his surly boss might have a softer side to him. There's an unexpected freedom in getting a second shot at a first impression…but as Sam and Jonathan grow closer, can Sam really bring himself to tell the truth, or will their future be built entirely on one impulsive lie?

Quirky story and some truly laugh out loud moments, but voice actor Will Watt kills!

The story did a great job of making you fall in love with all the characters. It was truly a great book. Another winner by Alexis Hall.

Sigh. I just feel better after a trip inside an Alexis Hall story. This one was lovely. The characters are relatable on so many different levels. The plot is so creative. The unbelievable parts of the story become very believable with every chapter. I laughed. I cried. I didn't want the story to end, but the ending made me really happy. If that wasn't enough then allow me to gush about the wonderful narrator, Will Watt, who does an amazing job of narrating a large cast of characters with distinct voices for each character. So yeah, definitely a must read and a wonderful reread.

Great story. Great narration.

The story was fun and the narrator made had me stifling my laughter on planes, on the couch and alone in my room. What a fun and tender read. I really enjoyed this.

This book came into my life just when I needed it to. Amazing all around. Story is beautiful and narration is perfection.

I’m not crying as I write this, you are. Shut up.

After coming off a high listening to the complete Spires series and then Boyfriend/Husband Material I just couldn't let the writing of Alexis Hall go.
This book is not the same as the above mentioned. The writing is, but it's so different, and I am having a hard time trying to describe why. In my mind it shouldn't work but it does. Like the repetitive sayings of the bed and bathroom products. The first couple times I was the WTF. That is strange but then it wasn't.
I really enjoyed the story of Sam and Johnathan. Their dynamics together, their bickering, their eventual friendship, their eventual like of each other and in the end their love of each other. I wasn't sure what was going to happen after the Christmas party fiasco (seriously Brian should have been fired from the get go) and then at the cemetery. Between the party and the cemetery I may have cried. I just really like how they Sam and Johnathan completed each other.
Johnathan's family is a hoot. They reminded me of watching a British Sitcom. Keeping Up With Appearances comes to mind. So many other good ones too.
The story is basic but full of such complete chaos and content.
Love is Love and you never know where you're going to find it.
Another win for Alexis Hall.
Another great narration from Will Watt.

“Ten Things” is a balm to my soul. The wit, the kindness - not a single character is given short shrift, including Gollum, sweet thing. I’ve reread so many times that I now discipline myself and only return to it when I really need a pick me up. This is the book that sent me down an Alexis Hall rabbit hole and now sixteen books in, “Ten Things” is still my joy (although, Kate Kane is my ride or die). Sprinkle sparkles on your life, go read it.

Heavenly

It was a charming and unpredictable story line. The VO actor did a wonderful job. Overall, the story, dialogue, and performance were believable and comforting. It is also nice to have a gay love story without sex scenes. There are very few audio books that fill this void of storytelling.

Lovely

Alexis Hall delivers another cozy romance full of competent characters that make terrible decisions with the best intentions.

Will Watt’s performance was *chef’s kiss*
