I’ve been asked to speak at a few schools on tips for succeeding in residency. Rather than give them a few tips in a PowerPoint or hand them one of the books I’d already written, I asked myself: At the moment a student gets the very first interview email, what is their next best step? This audiobook is that first step - a quick run-through of do's and don’ts, so you don’t get blindsided. Hopefully, you’ll optimistically listen to it ahead of that first interview email.

Story
For innovation and leadership guru Hal Gregersen, the power of questions has always been clear - but it took some years for the follow-on question to hit him: If so much depends on fresh questions, shouldn’t we know more about how to arrive at them? That sent him on a research quest ultimately including more than 200 interviews with creative thinkers. Questions Are the Answer delivers the insights Gregersen gained about the conditions that give rise to catalytic questions - and breakthrough insights - and how anyone can create them.

Well worth your time and your money
Really a very informative and honest book. I appreciate that the authors have been on both sides of the table as interviewees and interviewers. What really sets apart this treasure trove of advice is that it takes you into the perspective of the interviewer. This book will teach you not just how to answer questions correctly, but also how to make yourself memorable through your answers. It’s a solid book that I have been telling my P4 friends about.

Great starting point!
I feel very prepared for interviews now that I have listened to this audiobook. Some of the example responses were a little far-fetched, I think, and even seemed to not answer the actual prompt. Overall, great. It was useful to note what the programs were really trying to sneakily discover about you with certain questions.
