About this listen

Learn how to write fast and professionally, and make 1500 words per hour a breeze.

Do you struggle with the whole writing process? If you do, it's likely because you don't have a proper writing system in place. But not just any system. I'm talking about a system that not only allows you to write faster, but also produce higher quality work. Whether you are writing fiction or writing nonfiction, this system will help you write with ease.

You will produce 1500 words or more for every hour you spend writing.

But how is that achievable? The secret to achieving such impressive word counts is to separate your thinking time from your writing time. This audiobook will show you exactly how to do that so you are no longer stuck for words and start earning more money from your writing.

With the Speed Write system, the words just flow out effortlessly all the time.

As hard as that is to believe, it's true. I have proven it. So have many other successful writers who use a similar system. In this book, I lay out the complete Speed Write system and show you just how easy it can be to go from amateur writer who gets nothing done to professional writer who finishes a book every couple of months.

Inside this guide, you will learn:

  • How to never suffer from writers block ever again
  • How to generate an unlimited amount of new ideas
  • The power of intention and how it can assure your success
  • Why thinking can be a curse, and how to separate your thinking and writing time
  • The simple tactic that may just solve all of your writing flow problems
  • How to make writing a habit and minimize distractions
  • How to consistently publish quality books fast
  • And much more

1500 words. You can write that many in just a single hour. All you need is the right process to follow. The Speed Write system embodies that process.

Short and Sweet - Like an Appitizer

This 54 minute listen is a high speed overview of a writing process. The process is solid if unremarkable. The best part is it makes a point that every writer needs a writing process. The book does not teach technique, rather it drives home the point that one has to have discipline and understand the steps in the creative process.

Martin's process is as good as as any and mainstream. You might adapt it for your purposes. Though I encourage you to read deeply. He provides references in the printed version to expand your understanding. I give it a thumbs up.

Content is good but audio is horrible!

Audio continually cuts out so I was only able to hear half of the book. The parts I was able to hear helped tremendously.

Got me to 2000 wph

Incredibly helpful for first drafts. Love the practical focus of this book. Could use more editing guidance and examples, to get from first draft writing to published. Look forward to follow up nonfiction books by N.P. Martin on marketing, sales and publishing.

Basic; fine for what it is.

Clear, straight forward, but nothing earth-shattering.

NOTE: Be aware. The reader mentions many potentially helpful links that are not included in the audiobook.

Quite irritating.

Self-indulgent nonsence

What disappointed you about 1500 Words Per Hour?

The title is an utter lie. It should be called "write an outline before your novel"...but without any practical advice, I've just told you everything the author had ot say on the subject.

What do you think your next listen will be?

an epic fantasy

Would you be willing to try another one of Nick Gilbert’s performances?

Sure. The actor wasn't the problem, the author was

If you could play editor, what scene or scenes would you have cut from 1500 Words Per Hour?

Cutting parts isn't the issue, the fact that he has nothing useful to say is.

Any additional comments?

This author's a jackass and I have no interest in supporting him. This book really felt like bait and switch.

weaksauce

Common sense vague advice for the most part. A couple of decent points. Was very generous in giving two stars for 'story.'

Production value is absolutely abysmal. Randomly repeats phrases--not intentionally to make a point--randomly like je didnt know how to use audio equipment. Would think that a < 1 hr audiobook could be listened to for editing, but that was apparently too much work. Makes no sense to me... Just laziness?

I guess its basically what youd expect from $2 audiobook.

Good content, terrible audio

I'd be more inclined to take this advice if the audio was easier to listen to. skips, repeats, etc are terrible.

I really wanted to enjoy, but...

The narrator consistently repeated sentences and skip words all together.

Since it's a pretty short listen, and I had no plan on how to actually complete any of my written projects; I forced myself to listen completely to this audiobook.

Despite the narrator's quirks, I was able to gather useful information from this audiobook, which was surprisingly very helpful.

If you can deal with a 'tweety bird' voice that sounds like it's stuck to a frozen pole, you too might also gain useful information from this audiobook.
