Amazing resource.

After two months I managed to finish listening to all of it, about 15 hours is a long time and takes some commitment to complete. The reader did a good job reading each sentence clearly and I only remember her making a mistake once (she used some other word instead of body in one sentence where body was supposed to be read)

I rated the performance with 3 stars because a fundamental flaw of this course is the lack of a Japanese only audio. One big part of learning a new language is revising and re-listening to the material you've already studied, too much time would be wasted if you do that with this material in it's current state, nonetheless the material is very good and I'm happy I found it and got to listen to Miss Rieah Masubuchi's voice for so long.

Great book (with minor tweaks)

I like this book and will continue to listen to it. I have a fair understanding of Japanese grammar, so I’m now trying to learn more words.

Here’s the current format: (1) You hear a Japanese word; (2) You hear the English definition; (3) You hear the Japanese word in a sentence (all in Japanese); and (4) You hear the English translation of the sentence.

Here’s my feedback: (1) A native Japanese speaker gives the new Japanese word; (2) A native English speaker translates the word and gives you a sentence with the new word in it. (This would be helpful as the current narrator’s pronunciation, syllabification, usage, etc. is awkward to my ears; and (3) A native male and female Japanese speaker both say the sentence so I can hear it twice. I found that men and women have very different speech in Japan.

Finally, I think it would be more interesting to even introduce two new words at a time, so the speaker can see the place of each word in the sentence.

It works very well with daily self-study

This audiobook is a useful collection of common Japanese words and expressions. It could be an excellent complement to daily self-study for those who have basic knowledge of the language, especially in grammar aspects.

The recordings are flawless in intonation and vocabulary, using the word both alone and at its context, and could be an awesome guide to quick access by hand, when combined with the use of the platform's bookmark.

Great at its intended use

The 2000 Most Common Words series by Lingo Mastery is a unique kind of self study resource that is a great supplement to workbooks and tutors for anyone who is truly motivated to learn a language. I'm just starting out with Japanese and I use this book along with a workbook for now and I'm taking it slowly.

This is not supposed to be a one-stop-shop kind of book to learn Japanese, but it's a great way to leran some of the most essential vocabulary.

Great help in my learning process

I've been trying to learn Japanese for a while now, I could say I have an intermediate level. I'm very passionate about the language, so I try to consume as much content about it as I can, and I can say this audiobook is a must. I learned a lot of new and useful vocabulary. Can't wait to use it on my trip to Japan. Also, the narrator has a very clear pronunciation. Thanks a lot!

Don't waste your time/money

Where to start...format is awful, English is difficult to understand (translations should've been read by a native), way too many filler words that are just English words read in a Japanese accent, and worst of all the phonetic spelling in the PDF doesn't match the pronunciation in the audiobook or hiragana if you can read that. Lady seems nice but the content, format, and delivery have all been irritating.

Not great

There is very little Japanese in this book. They repeat English more than the Japanese words. It needs to repeat the Japanese not the English. It should also count in Japanese.

“One. Koninciwa “hello. Hello”. Konichiwa Eric’s San. Hello Erica.

That’s how each word plays out.
