About this listen
Teachers, youth leaders, pastors, and VBS directors:
Kids love to learn through playing parts in fun plays, and they will have a blast with these 25 five-minute plays. Assign parts and let the kids listen to the play, encouraging them to be expressive. Each play teaches a powerful principle of scripture. Questions are provided at the end of each play for discussion.
To Sunday school teachers:
These plays make great introductions for Sunday school lessons. They can be used to begin a class, or as a fill-in if there is extra time. They can also provide the main theme for that day’s lesson. Each play is based on a scripture passage that teaches God’s word in a memorable way.
To pastors, youth leaders, and VBS directors:
The plays can also serve as lessons for children’s time in church, VBS, or children’s church. The plays would also make great introductions to sermons for the entire congregation.
Puppet ministry:
Another great option is to use these plays in your children’s puppet ministry. The plays take about five minutes and are easy to put on. Kids will have a blast acting out these stories using puppets while learning the truth of God’s word.
Please do not read the characters names before their lines. Let your voice identify the character.

This is a book about discovering what we really need. There are a lot of second-best options, but we weren't made to live a second-best life. Finding what we actually need is different than what we are often offered. There are many books full of opinions, steps and programs. This isn't one of them. This is about craving the things that matter. Things that don't just work, but last.

Why do my most profound moments of faith vanish so quickly? What would your life be like if you could harness the rush of faith that appears in the most desperate moments? What if you could live your entire life with the kind of split-second, imminent-disaster faith that crying out to God brings? What if you could live a life of ridiculous faith? Story
On an ordinary September day, 12-year-old Jack is swept away in a freak neighborhood flood. His parents and younger sister are left to wrestle with the awful questions: How could God let this happen? Can we ever be happy again? They each fall into the abyss of grief in different ways. And in the days and months to come, they each find their faltering way toward peace. In Rare Bird, Anna Whiston-Donaldson unfolds a mother's story of loss that leads, in time, to enduring hope.

Story
Our preteen years, ages nine to 13, can present some of the most difficult times in our young lives, a period of tremendous physical and emotional change. We're eager to leave the "kid" stage, yet we're uncertain about what adolescence will bring; we start hearing the familiar refrain "wait until you're older" far too often. Chicken Soup for the Preteen Soul is a companion guide for these transitional years.

Story
Jim Daly, president and CEO of Focus on the Family, is an expert in fatherhood - in part because his own 'fathers' failed him so badly. His biological dad was an alcoholic. His stepfather deserted him. His foster father accused Jim of trying to kill him. All were out of Jim's life by the time he turned 13. Isn't it odd - and reminiscent of the hand of God - that the director of the leading organization on family turned out to be a guy whose own background as a kid and son were pretty messed up?
