About this listen

Do you hate sleep and love real ghost stories? Then this 50-story collection is exactly what you’re looking for!

These stories are unexplainable true accounts from first responders, police officers, firemen, and 911 operators, told from the perspective of everyday people. Every single tale between these covers is 100 percent true.

First responders with any real time on the job believe in ghosts. They’ve experienced events they can’t otherwise explain. Same with other professions that deal with injuries, accidents, or death. Police officers, firemen, 911 operators, they’ve seen the worst that people can do to one another, and they’ve all had brushes with the unexplained.

Don’t believe in ghosts? This book might change your mind steal any hope of sleep.

Are they spirits? Entities? Unexplainable shadows that move? All of the above? Absolutely. Will these stories give you the chills and haunt your dreams? Certainly.

Great content, nice variety, spooky stories. Had an error with the Audible app and wasn’t able to finish the book, but was happy up to that point. Nice listen, especially at the start of the Halloween season.

Great Stories, Audible App Errors

I had high hopes for this book as I'm currently going through a paranormal phase. It's just some of these stories seem a little to convenient. Most follow the whole, tell the whole story just to find out that said person has died however long ago. Idk, maybe it's just me.

Meh (spoilers in my review)

I have read 3 books by this author. I enjoy the narrative it is smooth and easy to listen to.

The first responders reaction to what they witnessed.

I found the stories entertaining but the narration was difficult to enjoy at times. As a firefighter myself those stories were full of inaccuracies that made it evident no firefighter ever wrote or revises those particular stories. The material was something to listen to and like other reviews state there were a couple repeats.

Not sure they are real stories At all

Very entertaining. I listened to this while doing tedious tasks at work and the day flew by.

Great stories!

Interesting tales from police and other first responders about situations where something happened they couldn't quite explain.

Fascinating stories from first responder.

While I like the premise of this book (first responder stories are interesting to begin with. Add the paranormal to that and what could be better?) However, I don’t feel like this book provides first responder stories with a paranormal twist. It’s seemingly the same urban legends that have been traipsing through police stations and fire houses for generations. All stories are very evidently written by the same person. Not only is it the same writing style, it’s the same stories. They are so repetitive that some stories are back to back identical with very minimal changes regarding location and circumstance. A couple of them are almost verbatim the same. While some readers / listeners may find that interesting, I was expecting 50 different authors regaling us with the most interesting paranormal accounts they’ve ever experienced in their careers. I guess I was just a little disappointed.

Repetitive urban legends

I really struggled listening because the narration is awful. The narration sounds like this is the very first time the narrator has seen the material. His voice adds no mystery to the stories. I really tried but I guess I'll just listen to Art Bell Ghost to Ghost for the rest of my work day.

Bored!!!

I keep wondering if the ghost of the female trooper is going to appear a third time before I finish the book. Or if that same trooper will go back to the “shadow people” hill to catch speeders. Some of the narration is good, but some of it sounds like a bad parody of the old Dragnet series. I’d ask for a refund but I’ve used up my requests. I know now not to buy any more books by this author, though. And none of the stories are even scary!!!

Stories start to repeat halfway through.
