Story
In this "mini-book", P.T. Barnum gives practical rules that allowed him to stay out of debt and to acquire wealth. The "rules" are illustrated by homespun stories. While some of these of this may seem like common sense, it is the kind of common sense that Wall Street, the government and many ordinary people seem to have forgetten about in recent years. This is a small book but one that could have large consequences for your financial future.

As we think, so we become. This fundamental truth, which some have called "The Secret" or the "Law of Attraction" was clearly and convincingly argued for the first time in James Allen's masterpiece, As a Man Thinketh. Allen reveals how our thoughts shape our character, and manifest themselves in our finances, health, appearance, and environment. The choice is yours: either master your thoughts and create the life you want or remain mired in negativity, frustration, and failure.

Story
It is popularly supposed that a greater prosperity for individuals or nations can only come through a political and social reconstruction. This cannot be true apart from the practice of the moral virtues in the individuals that comprise a nation. Better laws and social conditions will always follow a higher realization of morality among the individuals of a community, but no legal enactment can give prosperity to, nay it cannot prevent the ruin of, a man or a nation that has become lax and decadent in the pursuit and practice of virtue.

Story
Earl Nightingale said that he came to his “aha” moment at the age of 29 while reading Napoleon Hill’s Think and Grow Rich - specifically the words “we become what we think about”. Shortly thereafter he recorded The Strangest Secret which went on to earn a gold record. Think and Grow Rich is the standard against which all motivational books are measured. The book (and audiobook) has helped millions of people create their own success and realize their dreams.

Story
Here in one volume are both the Essays: First Series and Essays: Second Series from one of the most influential philosophers in American history. Although Ralph Waldo Emerson, perhaps America’s most famous philosopher, did not wish to be referred to as a transcendentalist, he is nevertheless considered the founder of this major movement of nineteenth-century American thought. Emerson was influenced by a liberal religious training; theological study; personal contact with the Romanticists Coleridge, Carlyle, and Wordsworth; and a strong indigenous sense of individualism and self-reliance.

The Varieties of Religious Experience is considered to be the classic work in the field. To quote Wikipedia, "James was most interested in understanding personal religious experience. The importance of James to the psychology of religion - and to psychology more generally - is difficult to overstate. He discussed many essential issues that remain of vital concern today. What makes James writing so special is that he could take a very complex subject and, without watering it down, make it understandable to 'the rest of us.'"

This book is dense and amazing
I’ve read Think and Grow Rich 4 or 5 times now with plans to read it many more times in the future. It was that book that made me what to get this book. I love it but let me be clear it is dense!! And is not for people who haven’t started on a spiritual practical journey to success! But if you have this book is a wonder and a tool that I highly recommend. I listen to it on x1.5 speed tho because the pace is slow but the knowledge/ perspective is valuable

Best investment EVER.
If you want to grow as a human being, this is the best investment you can make for the return. 40+ books, hundreds of years of knowledge gained, lessons learned, and wisdom earned. For 1 Credit?! So what if it’s all bunched together. So what if the performance isn’t the most entertaining. If you have the capacity, stamina, and endurance to make it through this, with the information obtained from this, your limits are non existent. How can one pass up the wisdom and secrets of some of the most wealthy and successful men for the relative cost of nothing. This is how you start from the bottom and end up on rooftops. Soak it in, appreciate the offer, take advantage of every word. Don’t focus on the negativity of “inconvenience” and focus on the positivity of the treasure trove of information that almost feels like you’ve stolen something for the price that was paid. This was my first purchase on audible with the free trial credit. FREE. If you can’t afford it, try that. It will change your life.

Great collection just 1 flaw
I have been listening to this book during my work and have been soaking up as much information as I can from these men. However, at around the 387 chapter mark the book quits playing. And when I try to restart the chapter the book acts as if it has never been downloaded which stops me from navigating any of the books.

Great Value and Content - Terrible Structure
I own many of these books individually, but sometimes especially with older books it's good to hear other translations as well as the additional content that I do not yet own. Much of the material is very helpful and beneficial.
However it is difficult to know where the works of one title begins and another ends. The chapters listed continue counting as if the parts continue in a numerical sequence such as the one shown. Unfortunately each part starts over at chapter one and there is some simple math, that most people (including myself) are not going to want to do to find where they really are in the book. Unfortunately this leads me to not enjoying the wisdom shared because I don't know the source of it. (Some things I disagree with, and others I agree with a lot, and knowing where it comes from helps me to discern which sources I want to listen to more)
Over all, if you're wanting a sampling of everything this book has to offer than it's a great deal, if however you are some one that enjoys these classics and want to listen to particular books over and over I might purchase the individual book. If the books had been marked at parts or if the description indicated which part/chapter to find the book in I would likely have given the 5th star.

Great value, organization sucks
Loved the classics. There are lots of great lessons here packed into one long rambling “book”.
I liked the material, but it’s often difficult to know what book you’re on since they state it only once at the beginning, and sometimes not at all. I’m glad I slogged through it; I just feel like I could have gotten more out of it with better organization. I guess that’s the drawback with such an inexpensive cost.
