About this listen

Her husband killed someone. She’s the only witness.

Amanda Davis has it all: a beautiful home, a thriving career, and a charismatic husband who is the darling of television news. But when Paul kills someone in a disturbing accident, Amanda’s perfect world shatters. Pulled into a web of manipulation, deceit, and dark secrets, she becomes his unwilling accomplice, trapped in a twisted, dangerous existence that tests the limits of love and loyalty.

As the weight of the secret bears down, Amanda begins to see a side of Paul she’s never known—cold, manipulative, and dangerously unpredictable. His charm fades, replaced by a chilling determination to keep their secret at any cost. The walls are closing in: the police are investigating, strange events unsettle her, and Paul’s behavior grows more menacing by the day.

Trapped and isolated, Amanda realizes she’s not just covering up an accident—she’s become a prisoner in her own life. With her sanity and safety on the line, she must decide: How far will she go to escape the web of lies? And who can she trust when the one person she thought she knew best becomes a threat?

In this gripping, twisty psychological thriller, Amazon Charts and Kindle #1 best-selling author Leslie Wolfe masterfully crafts a tale of chilling deception, dangerous secrets, and the terrifying lengths we go to in order to keep up appearances. Perfect for fans of Freida McFadden, Lisa Jewell, and Jeneva Rose, A Beautiful Couple will leave you breathless and questioning everything you thought you knew about love, loyalty, and trust.

One of the few audiobooks I’ve ever returned!!! The narrative is phrased badly and is so distracting that I couldn’t stand it! Shame because I think it could have been a good story!

Horrible Narration

The “twist” at the end, was expected, this story reminds me of Gone Girl, The Good Girl, The Perfect Marriage, but at least in those books, the characters were likeable.

The husband was so unlikeable, that I was rooting for him to be taken away in the second chapter.

As far as the narrator goes, she sounds robotic and gives the wrong intonation at the wrong time, not sure if this is how the author and editor wanted the book to sound, but I had to speed up the voice to make it somewhat bearable.

Another “Gone Girl” Story by a Robotic Narrator

Amanda and Paul Davis seemingly have the perfect life, but that's so far from the truth. Amanda wants a divorce, and Paul doesn't want to give it to her because it wouldn't look good for his career. However, after an accident on the way home from a gala, everything changes, and hiding a murder while trying to keep up appearances is difficult. Something's gotta give and someone's going down, but who will it be exactly?

Whoa! I should've read this sooner!

The book keeps you pulled in and engaged all the way to the end. Would definitely recommend. Love her books.

I was expecting more from the ending - what happened when or if he got released? How did she end up killing her husband. I needed more. Nice read overall

Good read

Loved the suspense and surprise ending. Didn’t see that coming. I highly recommend this book.

It was alright. The narration is hard to get over and annoying. AI sounds better than this. It's so robotic and slow, I had to speed it up. Lines are double read multiple times. The story is good, not great, but the narrator's so distracting.

Narration is so distracting

Well narrated, all characters voiced well. Interesting story, but too many horrible and painful things happened for the reader to endure, detracting from being a pleasant read. The one bright spot, Dr. Grant, had so much potential. Amanda said she felt a genuine connection with him, a strong mutual attraction. But, she never followed up on it and it was completely dropped from the story. The story ends without ever bringing him back in. She does, however, pick up a guy in a bar, which goes wrong. It's too bad Amanda didn't have better sense and make better decisions, better choices, along the way.

Kept my interest throughout

It doesn’t seem like an editor or producer listened to this book because I counted at least four times where the same line was read twice. You don’t need to say the characters first AND last name at the start of every chapter when there are only three characters in the story. The narrator sounded like a robot or AI. And the story was incredibly boring and I stopped listening mid way through. I definitely would not recommend.

Poor production, robotic narration, boring story

The narration was awful and distracted from what would have been a good story. It sounded like it was AI generated. There were glaring reading mistakes made in both pronunciation and vocabulary. I’ve listened to many books and this narration was the worst by far. It was monotonous and monotone and didn’t sound human. Just awful.

Not much.
