Breathtaking suspense unraveling at train-wreck speed, in an unforgettable collection.
Sometimes the only way to do the right thing is to break the rules.
Love, Lies, and Murder is a collection of 19 short stories that explore the extremes of human emotion and the conflicts that result. Every story will leave you tense and breathless as the characters race to a conclusion that is as unexpected as it is satisfying.
Intense and gripping, each story features a hero that seeks justice and the triumph of good over evil by whatever means necessary - regardless of what society’s rules find acceptable.
The collection is taut, visceral, and addictive. All the emotions we feel every day, when taken to their extremes, offer a roller coaster of passion, conflict, and chills.
Nineteen droplets of suspense in a thrilling anthology that will leave you unsettled, longing for more.

All of them are vivid and captivating, with compelling characters and so well structured that I'd have problems trying to choose just one favourite because there are so many that truly touched me. 'Paying forward' is simply powerful. 'A Tour of duty' felt particularly close because I had a dog like that one and it brought so many memories!. 'Noisy Creek'! oh, it took me completely by surprise! 'Adam' is simply heart-warming and... see what I said? I can't choose!
And Gwendolyn Druyor did such a wonderful job with the narration!
I can't recommend this audiobook enough.

THE BANJO
The author pulls you in from the beginning, if you have ever seen someone trying to hop onto a train. Your heart stops, he can’t miss, he can’t., is your mantra. She continues with Jack finding the coil banjo strings, and the blood is his missing brother, Conrad. Taking a leave of absence from his job, he haunts the corners, the homeless. They mention a guy playing the banjo, and riding the UP trains. She has given us a tense, straightfordward , personal look at a brother missing and the brother looking for him.
Another a woman who enjoying the sun. and talking with Elmo though the. son questions who is Elmo, nobody around he knew, or was there.
Another a postman and putting money in a jar as a gesture of kindness for someone at Christmas.
The stories are short, all are a great selection that will touch one‘s heart with.the emotion of the story.
The first one was a favorite, though enjoyed all,

It’s a well-written short story collection, with good plots, and some really great characters all with perfect pacing and an abundance of surprises. Just the way fans of mystery, thriller, and suspense want a story to be.
The narration of this collection is wonderfully done by the talented Gwendolyn Druyor

Gwendolyn Druyor once again lends her narration to another of Ms. Wolfe's books. Her voice gracing these stories help make it a pleasurable listening experience. She puts the proper emotions into her narration as well as changing her voice so that it is easy to keep track of which character is speaking in conversations.
My original intention was to give a brief synopsis of each story but soon found that difficult to do without giving away too much of the story. Suffice it to say the stories are divided into 3 thematic sections being of course love, lies, and murder. The stories in each section represent different degrees of each theme. For example, the stories representing love are about the love between spouses, love between man and his dog, love between parent and child, love between siblings, etc. Lies are the lies told for various reasons. Murder are different types and reasons for murder. Each story is an emotional experience.
I do love Leslie Wolfe's stories and novels and very much look forward to each of them. I always preorder her books and when I am not fortunate enough to be gifted a copy of the audible, I purchase it as well.
Outstanding collection of short stories!
