About this listen

This barista’s in a whole latte trouble....

The new barista at Cascade River Coffee is Stoneybrook’s new obsession. Everyone loves Max and his latte art...until he’s found standing over a body, a smoking gun in hand. The coffee company's owner, Wendy, is desperate to prove her most popular employee is not guilty. She seeks out Hadley’s help with the case.

As Hadley, Paul, Suze, and Luke join together to discover the truth about the murder, they uncover more secrets than they bargained for. The victim was a Seattle-based journalist, and he was working to spill the beans on a few big scandals. But will Hadley and the gang be able to prove any of this was grounds for murder?

Recipes included: Spiced coffee blossoms and cinnamon pecan biscotti!

A Bitter Shot

Hadley has another mystery to solve when she and Luke discover a dead man at the local coffee shop and the barista next to him holding the gun.

Things are also complicated in her romantic life as she tries to decide what is next in her relationship with Luke and how she feels about it.

This and Eryn's other cozy mystery series are great because they blend mystery, romance, and friendship. I love trying to figure out who-dun-it right alongside Hadley. The mysteries always have just enough twists and turns to keep you guessing. I wish Stoneybrook was real so I could visit her Jam store and Suze's art studio!

Entertaining cozy mystery

A Bitter Shot was an entertaining cozy mystery and one that I really enjoyed. From the first chapter to the last, I was hooked as I followed the clues trying to guess the murderer before Hadley, her brother and friends.

Narrator Jennifer Jill Araya has really brought these books to life for me and did a fabulous job keeping me entertained. This was a book filled with a lot of intrigue and suspense and I was kept guessing until the end.

It was also entertaining to watch Hadley and Luke and Suze and Paul’s relationships develop. Also entertaining was Grandma and her friend Kitty popping their noses into the investigation with some fun results.

Finished in a day!

Eryn Scott never ceases to amaze me with her work. This story is a lovely continuation of the Stoneybrook Mystery series, and is also great as a stand alone book. The storyline is well developed and had just enough mystery to keep me on my toes until the end! I also love Jennifer Araya's narration. Her voice fluctuations make this audiobook top notch!

Another Great Stoneybrook Mystery

I really enjoy this series. Hadley and friends have come across a murder victim in her town and are trying to solve it through all the red herrings and clues. I have read Bittershot and thought 'What a good story", and have now listened to the audio version. Jennifer Jill Araya does a wonderful job with the narration that completely drew me back into Stoneybrook and the lives of Hadley, Luke and Suze.

Murder and Coffee

I have loved this series since I bought the first set of three and have been hooked since this. This story didn't disappoint either and I love that she has you guessing who committed the crime and it may or may not be who you hoped had done it. Plus, it never fails that there is another cat in need of rescuing. This time we got to be introduced to gran's friend who was there for a visit and those two together are a hoot. Additionally, there is a progress with Hadley and Luke relationship overall in all of the stories and I enjoy that aspect of not only this story, but the overall series as well.
