Publisher's summary

An uplifting short Christmas story to warm the heart on this cold holiday season… Megan Jenkins isn’t looking forward to Christmas. The holidays will forevermore remind her of what she had and lost. Her husband, and love of her life, died a few days after Christmas the year before, leaving her a young widow with a fatherless son to raise. During the course of this Christmas Eve, Megan experiences her own Christmas Miracle as she learns the true meaning of giving with the help of Kevin Murdock, a long-time friend who’s always been there for her. A Christmas Miracle is based on a true story - a Christmas Eve adventure that had to be immortalized in this short story so it would never be forgotten.

Fresh Story About Second Chances

Where does A Christmas Miracle rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?

middle

What did you like best about this story?

I liked the various characters introduced (sisters, kids, in-laws, friends). Ms Loyd is a great storyteller. I'm looking forward to hearing more from this author.

What does Carol Dines bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

At times, the narration was a bit robotic. Ms. Dines annunciation is impeccable. I just wanted a bit more warmth.

Any additional comments?

Loss and Renewal - great Christmas story

What made the experience of listening to A Christmas Miracle the most enjoyable?

Narrator Carol Dines has a pleasing voice and she uses it well to portray a variety of characters and emotions.

What did you like best about this story?

It's relatable. Most of us can understand loss, and the hopeful ending is one we all yearn for.

Which scene was your favorite?

Would be a spoiler if I disclosed!

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

Yes. Of course it's less than two hours long, so I could!

Any additional comments?

Sweet, uplifting holiday story with enough realism and difficult issues to make it compelling. Easy to listen to.

About a boy and his love of his dog.

A bit over mushy! I put it in faster mode as I already had an idea where it was going. A definite chick flick type..

Cute little Christmas story

Would you recommend this book to a friend? Why or why not?

We chose to listen to this as a family on a road trip. If you have kids who believe in Santa, do not listen to this with them! The book spills the beans and this could be traumatic to a kid who still believes.

How would you have changed the story to make it more enjoyable?

I would have used a different narrator. The story seemed a bit far fetched, too (I don't think the mother in law would really be that cruel).

How could the performance have been better?

Personally, I didn't like the voice of the narrator. She grated on my nerves a bit (sorry!).

Any additional comments?

While we did enjoy this story, it wasn't my favorite but it was enjoyable. I received this book for free in exchange for my honest review.

This was an Enjoyable Listen

I listened to "A Christmas Miracle" and I liked it although I thought it had the potential to be much better. I like the direction the author Sandy Loyd is moving in. I like that she's a country girl as am I and I feel she's an author to watch for great things to come.

The overall story was good and I would have liked more back story and world-building. I felt that this was a glimpse into a much larger story. And whew, as far as the protagonist Megan's former mother-in-law blaming her for their loss, I was glad she finally took Kevin's advice and stood her ground. I felt there was too much of a jump ahead as far as the two of them getting together. I would have liked more in this area as far as relationship building. I liked the suspense towards the end. I thought that was good and it drew me in.

Carol Dines narration was hit and miss for me on this one. The hit was that I can hear in her tone that she has what it takes. Her tone was nice and I could listen to her again. The miss was that in a few places I felt her inflections were overly dramatic. It would also be good to just move from chapter to chapter without the title being repeated each time.

Good job ladies and I really do hope to hear more from both in the future.

A Christmas Miracle by Sandy Lloyd - lovely

A Christmas Miracle by Sandy Lloyd

this is a lovely story of a widow who is raising her son with the help of those around her. She really depends on a man that she isn't sure of caring for. When an emergency arises on Christmas Eve day will they be work through the feelings?

Innocent style romance, some strong language.
