Publisher's summary

I ought to say no, no, no sir...

Tori Helpern always wanted to be a music star, just like her hometown hero Tracy Slater. But Tori never quite found her big break, and now she works as a music teacher at the same high school she couldn't wait to get away from. Feeling washed up, Tori believes her only taste of fame will come from the solo in the holiday choir.

At least I'm gonna say that I tried...

Isaac Powell never needed much to make him happy. He has a good job, a nice house, and fond memories of his family growing up. When he joins the holiday choir for something fun to do after work, he doesn't expect to get a solo for the upcoming holiday concert.

Nervous about performing in front of a full audience, Isaac asks Tori to help him prepare, and she needs to decide whether she should help him succeed or steal the solo away from him.

Sorry not for me this time.

No really big issues to overcome in this one.
2.5/3 stars tbh I got a little bored. Narration once again was a little hard to follow because the voice level/tone doesn’t change between male and female main characters.
I wasn’t a fan of the female lead this time either. 🤷🏼‍♀️ quite bitter.

I did really like the rest of the series tho.

A short christmas romance

This was a easy listen. It is a short Christmas romance. The first books in the series were better in my opinion but if you are looking for a quick listen this might be it.

The narration between the two characters was not very different but that did not bother me.

I received this audtio book at my request and am voluntarily leaving this review.

Perfect Holiday Read

I love when you stumble upon a clean romance series. Every book in the series has been a true love story: both imperfect and heartwarming. This book was no exception. Really enjoyed listening to this during the holidays. If you are looking for something light and fun, this is the book for you.

Sweet Christmas Story!

Tori Helpern always wanted to be a famous musician, but it wasn't in the cards for her. She stayed with her music, becoming a music teacher in her school. And she does feel like a star, when she sings her solo in the holiday choir. Isaac Powell is a sweet, unassuming boy who works hard, lives with his parents and has a good, happy life. He gets joy from singing and is hoping to get the solo in the upcoming holiday concert. He never expected to get the solo, sure that it belonged to Tori, and his nerves are interfering with his singing. He asks Tori for help and she has faith in his abilities, so they work together. Tori sees him as the kind person he is, but she also notices that he's becoming something special. Isaac begins to think about her as something more than just a friend and their attempt to go on a date is both fun and somewhat sad. When Tori has to make a difficult decision about the solo, she finds out that going with your head isn't always the right answer. Sometimes, it's the heart that was right all along. This is a delightful and heartwarming story and I have to admit that I'm quite taken with Isaac's parents! Perfect for the holidays!
Stacy Creech does a wonderful job with the narration. She gives just the right voice to each of the characters to bring them fully to life!

not good

This was my least favorite story of the 4 so far. It sounded like high-school drama, so I rechecked the blurb to make sure what I was listening to. I struggled to listen and found it very childish and uninteresting. Not interested in continuing this sad series. I voluntarily listened to a free copy of this and am giving an honest review. The narrator was okay.

Collaboration

A talented singer who is a music teacher thought the Christmas solo was hers only to find out it was given to a newbie male singer in the choir. Tori decides to help Isaac practice his solo. The time spent together brings them closer. This Isaac humbles Tori and she gives him confidence. This audio was narrated by Stacy Creech.
