About this listen

A pitch-perfect holiday rom com about two oil-and-water reality-star country singers who must fake a relationship in order to win the opportunity of a lifetime, perfect for fans of Sally Thorne's The Hating Game and Christina Lauren's In a Holidaze.

Will they hit the right notes this holiday season?

When Sadie and Max are selected as contestants on the famed reality singing show Starmaker, each thinks they’ve finally gotten their big Nashville break. But then they’re paired up for duet week and stun the world with their romantic onstage chemistry. With fans going wild for #Saxie the network demands that they remain a duo on and offstage, or exit the competition. Faking a relationship until their final performance in the Starmaker holiday special shouldn't be too hard, except for one small problem—Sadie and Max can’t stand each other.

But with their dreams just within reach, they agree to the ruse. Will their fake relationship be exposed before they can win? Or might their phony connection turn real by the Christmas finale?

So so good

Really enjoyed the story. I absolutely loved the name of the book and the beautiful cover. I have the ebook but decided to also get it in audiobook form. Had so much fun reading and listening to this story. No complaints other than the whole back and forth or miscommunications and misunderstandings between the two main characters. But other than that I really enjoyed the book and cannot wait to reread in years to come.

fun, easy, feel good, holiday love story!

This is the perfect book for when you're in the mood for a cheesy feel good holiday love story!

Max and Sadie are contestants of the hit reality show Starmaker. After getting paired in the duet week and the viewers go crazy for their on stage chemistry! This makes them start a fake dating relationship to help their chance at winning the show! They soon see their true selves and realize there might be a reason for their immediate chemistry.

I needed this book for this time of year! I love picking up easy holiday reads in November and December that help me get through my busy schedule and in the mood for festive everything! Grab a cup of hot chocolate or hot tea, light a festive candel and treat yourself with All I Want for Christmas!

Thank you to netgalley and the publisher for providing me with an eARC of this title in exchange for my honest thoughts!

They never stop fighting

This whole story was just communication issue after communication issue. They never stop jumping to conclusions and don’t share with each other. You’d think after the first time having this happen they’d learn but nope. I think it could have been good but tbh neither one of these people should be in a relationship till they get their s*** handled. They are toxic to each other and have many issues to work though.

Difficult to listen to

The story is like a Hallmark holiday movie. So if you like those, then this book is for you. The male voice for Max does a decent job. The female voice for Sadie is alright until she speaks in Max’s voice-it’s so off putting. She uses a low deep voice with an accent. However the male voice for Max does not use a deep voice nor an accent. Also Sadie’s mother and grandmother are from Milwaukee, Wisconsin. The voice she uses for these two women is a deep northern Minnesota accent, vastly different than a Milwaukee accent. Read the book and skip the audible if you must

Not For Me ..

That was really toxic, on so many levels, UGH!!
The story is about Sadie Hunter who wants to be a big star in Nashville, and Max Broody is her only ticket to the fame .. if she pretends to date him for a year, but the problem is Max is a jerk (and he doesn't get better until the end ) and Sadie must find a way to convince him to sing with her so she can fulfill her dream by Christmas
this gave me "A Star Is Born" vibe, although the movie didn't have a "happy ending" it was more enjoyable to watch than reading this book .. every character was toxic in their own way and the book was simply sooo boring
