About this listen

I'm dreaming of a frightful Christmas....

The first thing that Patrolman Zane Cohen notices when he meets Helen Bell again in this new season is that she is not herself.

The libraries of the Volumes of Wisdom have been burned to ash. Believers of the Truth are disappearing across the snow globe. A Beast of the darkness is taking hostages and building his army in Winter. And Helen....

Helen sees it all unfolding in her dreams.

When the Volumes of Wisdom begin to whisper clues of something hidden in Winter that might turn the tides of the oncoming war, Helen finds herself trekking into the prickly pines and thundering songs of war drums in the Green Kingdom. She claims she's there as an emissary of the Three Kings of the East. But the true reason she's risked stepping into a kingdom of the verge of losing a deadly war...is to steal the Queen of the Pines' garland crown right from atop her head.

A Crown as Sharp as Pines is Book #3 of The Winter Souls Series, a Christmas-themed collection with holiday myths and folklore.

Disappointing Audio

This is the third book in the series, and it did not disappoint in terms of the story. However, the audio quality was a letdown. It lacked the polish of the previous books, making it harder to stay engaged. I frequently found myself rewinding to re-listen to entire chapters, which disrupted the experience. The earlier books had much better production quality, making this one a bit of a disappointment in that regard.

Love the story. But the sound quality very bad.

The story was great but the narrator used a microphone that sounded like she was speaking through a tin can.

One of my favorite series

This is a wonderful series full of fun adventure, tremendous character development, and clean romance. My only disappointments were that the narrator changed for this book and the sound quality was tinny. To be fair, the new narrator was still very good, it is just a shame the sound quality was not up to Audible standards.

Love this series!! Audio was wonky

These books have really filled a sad gap I’ve had with reading lately. When I found Christianity again I honestly thought I had to give up the entire genre of fantasy. Especially since everything popular these days is not clean and focused on self will and crass subjects. I’m so grateful to Jennifer for writing such a thoughtful story and full of truth. I love hearing the biblical themes throughout the story.

It’s sad to me that this book’s audio is not the highest quality. It has a slight echo in it. It was already disorienting having a new narrator but with the sound was off. It was a little disappointing.

Still absolutely love the series! I hope it will be fixed for the 4th book.

worse audio quality than the first two in the series

I'm really enjoying this series! Unfortunately, the audio quality on this recording is much inferior to the previous two. The narrator continues to be wonderful, but thr sound quality is echoey and weird to the point of distraction for me, and I can usually get over quite a bit of audio nonsense for a good story.

Love the story!

The story is magical as the first two but wow that audio is really distracting and made it very hard to enjoy.

very strange and abrupt ending.

loved the first half of this one, following the storyline of the first two books in the series, but suddenly I found it had turned into a prequel and then even more abruptly ended. It was quite confusing.

Love this story line!

I love the story line and the relationships being made. I am falling in love with the characters and all the personalities. I can picture every character and scene with all the details.

The audio is no good. I am very disappointed because it sounds like the person was recorded in a tunnel. A lot of echo happening.
