We know Jesus the Savior, but have we met Jesus, Prince of Peace?

When did we accept vengeance as an acceptable part of the Christian life? How did violence and power seep into our understanding of faith and grace? For those troubled by this trend toward the sword, perhaps there is a better way.

What if the message of Jesus differs radically from the drumbeats of war we hear all around us?

Using his own journey from war crier to peacemaker and his in-depth study of peace in the Scriptures, author and pastor Brian Zahnd reintroduces us to the gospel of peace.

Wow!

Just wow.... I was challenged and blessed by this author’s candid and transparent wrestling with Scripture and Christian nationalism.

be ready to take some notes!

There were a lot of moments on my commute when I had to pause, rewind, and take notes. A lot of thoughtful and difficult insight. Solid work.

The True Gospel of the Prince of Peace

I can’t recommend this highly enough!
It’s life-changing! It’s astounding to what extent a “flat” reading of Scripture has obscured the message of the living Word of God, Jesus.

prescription for political fear and resentment

I now understand the source I
of resentment and fear of Christian nationalists.. There is also a logic in the healing through divine therapy. thank you reverand.

The Gospel of Peace Is Our One Hope

What Brian Zahnd has written is the gospel of Jesus I have known all my life. I memorized the Sermon on the Mount and took it to be a literal instruction for how I was to behave as a Christian in the world. As I have gotten older, I have been blindsided by the level of violence and revenge that I hear rising in the words and actions of some believers. It is incongruent. It is foreign to me, and I have been taken aback. A Farewell to Mars was a refreshing read (and a wonderful listen), one that made me cry at some points, one that convicted me of where I need to realign my loyalties, and one that helped me see that Jesus, the Prince of Peace, truly does save all of the world--from the abstractest ideologies to the most concrete weapons of destruction. Jesus saves.

Read this or else….

This book along with Letters from Babylon are essential reads to the American church. Having preached the gospel of war and justice myself, I have had to repent and see a much more beautiful gospel and a beautiful God. I hope it’s not too late.

A watershed moment for me

This book has been nothing short of a revelation. Although it has radically challenged my world view and understanding of scripture, it has also helped make sense of many personal convictions which seemed to be at odds with my political and religious influences. I’m still left with many questions but encouraged to continue the journey of deepening my understanding of the gospel of peace. Highly recommend!
