About this listen

Love isn't something you find. Love is something that finds you.

When teacher Leo Tyndale moves to the small English town of Sandercombe after five years in India, he does not expect that his time at the local school will be a long one.

But a brief encounter with the beautiful, and fiercely independent Hestia Royce, soon has him changing his mind.

As he settles in to his new position, Leo finds that his mind increasingly wanders to Hestia.

She is known by his pupils as the strange woman who left Sandercombe to be married. Hestia returned without a husband, to a town rife with rumours. Leo can't help but wonder what happened.

His feelings for her grow, though she is reluctant, and soon the rumours about their supposed relationship swirl around Sandercombe.

Leo knows Hestia feels the same. Will they ever be able to admit it to each other? Or will Leo return to India forever?

A Harvest Passion is a charming regency romance novella and audiobook about the acceptance of unlikely love.

Emily Murdoch is a historian and writer, who has worked at the Bodleian Library in Oxford, the Yorkshire Museum, and as part of the National Trust. She has a degree in History and English, and a Masters in Medieval Studies, both from the University of York.

Sweet story, heart over mind

I enjoyed the author giving Hestia her own story, and I am glad it is a happy one. Overcoming her pain showed her strength of character and forgiveness. Leo's support for her even before he knew the details made him a sweetheart to me. There were moments I wanted to shake both of them but was happy with the ending.

I received a copy of this audiobook as a gift, and this is my unsolicited review.

a love pursued

Where does A Harvest Passion rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?

I would say in the top 10.

Who was your favorite character and why?

Leo because he looked past the rumors and saw the real Hestia

What does Virginia Ferguson bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

Loved her accent!!! She made it a truly regent kind of book.

If you were to make a film of this book, what would the tag line be?

A tale of seemingly lost love but true love waits around the corner.

A sweet romance

This is a sweet romance between Leo and Hestia. Having met Hestia in the previous book I was looking forward to hearing more about her. This story also reiterated how society regarded women at this time. Any perceived mistake was frowned upon and adverse comments made. Leo is not one to judge and feels an attraction to Hestia. However, given Hestia's background, will she be able to move forward with Leo? It also gives a glimpse of village life. This was an engaging story. The narrator used different voices to bring life to the characters and she had an easy voice to listen to. I received a copy and have voluntarily reviewed it. All thoughts and opinions are my own.
