I still have 4 1/2 hrs left in this second volume of short stories, but having just finished “Misfits”, I had to write this down. All of the stories in both Vol. 1 and 2 have been excellent, and I do mean all! Lee & Miller don’t write filler (hey, guys, feel free to use that).

But Misfits exemplifies what I’m feeling about these stories. We get a truly compelling backstory of one of my favorite characters, Miri Roberts, but also new and fully fleshed out stories of completely new characters. We get complex development of everyone, including their clans and the back stories on those people. We get the tension of war, as well as the politics of the “ neutral “ bystanders, and the good (& horrible) things people can and will do on the outskirts of a warn torn region.

So much drama and development in such a short time…I’ve fallen in love with this writing team and the worlds they create and weave, but the fact that they can bring so much to the table in a shorter format is proof positive of their brilliance.
It is my sincere hope that the Lee/Miller duo will continue to prosper and keep writing such fascinating tales.
