Publisher's summary

A new ship. A new crew. A different kind of mission.

When Manchester Yards donates a new training vessel to the Merchant Officer Academy at Port Newmar, Alys Giggone recalls the Chernyakova.

She wants Ishmael Wang and his crew to take a crew of cadets into the Deep Dark. They have to sort out the crews of two ships, figure out what lessons they need to teach, and who will get those lessons.

Once they agree, the trouble starts.

The beginning of the next chapter

Great story, great pre and fore thought while maintaining good if flawed humans, always love this series and can’t wait for more

Another great book by Nathan

Ishmael is one of my favorite characters and this series is an excellent addition to a great collection of series.

Wait for book 2

Honestly the story kinda felt like it went in circles. Ishmael having the same conversation with mulitple people many times. Also the crew being whishy washy for the entire booking was slightly annoying. I get that make big decisions are hard, but it seemed like the story barely advanced in 9hrs. I would wait for book 2 and get both.

Really great to be back with this crew, but...

Its almost all set up and filler for the rest of the new series. There are a few good bits but it's mostly meeting about meetings that probably could have been a email. That said, I still enjoyed being back in this universe.

Continuing the story line!

Glad to see that there is more in this long series! It was a bit slower than the other books but still a good story line.

Another great Nathan Lowell book

I just really like his books. Interesting stories that I come away from relaxed. It continues his Solar Clipper universe.

Good start

It’s a good start for a new story but it’s just that, a start. This could have been half the length and been the first half of a book. It’s too wordy with very little happening.

I enjoy the characters, and the universe. It’s a comfortable story full of old names. Just wish it was a bit less/ more in the right places

a great path to continue the story

I'm very happy with the continuation series combining Ishmael , pip, Natalia, and Zoya. The characters match up with their thinking very well. it's nice that they have a problem to solve in the intelligence that gets tied into it. I love how I am able to reply some of these books to real life business at times.

The only downside is it does get a little repetitive with reminding The readers of where they came from. it seems like it happened quite frequently in this book Even though they briefly talked about it with characters in previous chapters.

School Days is another awesome book from Nathan Lowell

I loved that all of the main characters from his other books came together in such a marvelous way.

I personally love the way that Nathan Lowell puts so much heart into his characters; it amazes me how much I care for all of them. His writing style is simply perfect for his stories. I only wish that he still also had the time to be the narrator as well. I miss hearing his voice.
