About this listen

Lady Patrina Tidemore gave up on the ridiculous notion of true love after having her heart shattered and her trust destroyed by a black-hearted cad. Used as a pawn in a game of revenge against her brother, Patrina returns to London from a failed elopement with a tattered reputation and little hope for a respectable match. The only peace she finds is in her solitude on the cold winter days at Hyde Park. And even that is yanked from her by two little hellions who just happen to have a devastatingly handsome, but coldly aloof father, the Marquess of Beaufort. Something about the lord stirs the dreams she'd once carried for an honorable gentleman's love.

Weston Aldridge, the Fourth Marquess of Beaufort was deceived and betrayed by his late wife. In her faithlessness, he's come to view women as self-serving, indulgent creatures. Except, after a series of chance encounters with Patrina, he comes to appreciate how uniquely different she is than all women he's ever known.

At the Christmastide season, a time of hope and new beginnings, Patrina and Weston, unexpectedly learn true love in one another. However, as Patrina's scandalous past threatens their future and the happiness of his children, they are both left to determine if love is enough.

An Absolute Delight

Oh, I absolutely loved this story. It even made me tear up. The main characters were just a delight, the children were precious, Patrina's family were great, and well... *that woman* was definitely the only person I didn't like and I don't feel bad about it either. She was clearly only concerned with herself. Otherwise, I guess my only issue is that I wish we would've got some more of Patrina with Weston's son. As for the performance the narrator did an amazing job especially with the distinctive voices for each character.

Cute little story with some hilarious characters!

Sweet short novella and love the HEA for Patrina & Weston but it was Smith - the deaf Butler, Charlotte and the ever tenacious Poppy with her penchant for the dramatic that had me cracking up!!! LOL! They were most definitely my favorites! And who brings these characters to life? The ever brilliant Tim Campbell!!!
No huge drama in this short story which was nice. Patrina was honest with the Marquess straight away about her "scandal" not wanting him to hear it from anyone else but there has to be a loathsome creature trying to thwart their happiness of course and, in this case, it was Weston's sister. Finally, as another reviewer pointed out, it would have been nice to see a bit more development in the relationship between Patrina & Daniel but overall it was a cute story.

just plain fun

W hat a nice HEA story! Nothing to complicated and no deep conspiracies to keep the two apart for too long. This is the perfect beach reading section. The plot, while simple, was satisfying enough. I think this is because it was so easy to love the heroine 's character.

Only one problem. It was too short

I loved it from beginning to end. The author has written a very heart warming story. Tim Campbell is the excellent narrator that brought the story to life.

A great addition to the series

Even though this looks like a Christmas story, it isn’t. It’s a very good addition to the series that just happens to take place a Christmas.

Fun! Not very holiday but very fun.

Adorable parts to this story. Lighthearted, mostly. I would not call this a Christmas edition except there was some holiday planning. I save up all the books in genres I like from writers I like that say Christmas is in the title to listen in December. This one was good, but not a wait for December book.

Tim Campbell is a STAR! I never hesitate when I see his name.

Heat level, not even lukewarm.
