About this listen

As the only child of a single mom, Jenny Collins wanted nothing more than to be part of a large, rambunctious family like the O’Briens. Ironically, though, when her mother married into that family, Jenny found herself feeling more like an outsider than ever.

Now, after years in Nashville as an established songwriter, Jenny’s drawn back to Chesapeake Shores to collaborate on a Christmas production...and to make peace with the past. As if that’s not challenging enough, Caleb Green, the singer who broke her heart, has followed her to town, determined to win her back. With the help of a little O’Brien holiday magic, will Jenny and Caleb find a way to make sweet music forever?

Entertaining

This is a very good story of second chances for couples. Great family stories in this series as sometimes you have a hard time to put the book away.

Whining heroine drags this one

Jenny's mom has married into a great family but Jenny is so self centered she can stand that her mom now has a husband and there's a new brother. She wants her mom all to herself like she's a childish spoiled brat not a sophisticated song writer. Her BF wants her back after he gets out of rehab and cheating on her, she's seen how he's changed and how he is now but her viewpoint about everything in the book is so negative I don't see why anyone would want her back. She was wronged, we get it but dragging it out waaaay too long, even up to the last chapter, is boring. As usual Erin B can read the phone book and it's a good performance and the story was a good idea overall except the main gal was a downer, non stop seeing the worse in every that happens, she doesn't want her mom happy, doesn't want to get to know her new brother who idolizes her, wavers back and forth too long about the BF. No one I know would cater to her negativity as long as this one does. Not a character I could care about or want to read a follow up book of this series and have her pop up again. I read Christmas books for uplift, tis the season and this wasn't it since everything they did that was Christmas-y was uplifiting for about 1 day until she soured on having a good time. If you're not a forgiving person then why would be bother knocking himself out to get er back? Makes no sense. If she could have lightened up a bit earlier in the book, I'd have bumped the star another point but too much over and over with the same hesitations/not mixing in with her new family. If she's supposed to be a song writer with deep feelings, you'd think she'd have some compassion, love for her family.

Beyond predictable

All of the Chesapeake shores are predictable, but this was extremely predictable probably my least favorite of all of them in the series Much, too Light on storyline I’m not sure I’ll keep going with the series TBD
