Editorial reviews

A Son of War is the sequel to Bragg's acclaimed The Soldier's Return. Langton's voice is charming and inviting. His performance warms the listener into a postwar world, in which the characters must struggle to figure out what roles to play after the end of the Second World War.

In this volume, the Richardsons continue to grapple with Sam's return from Burma. Sam wishes he could follow his war friend to Australia, but instead he returns to his wife, Ellen, and his son Joe. With the sudden reappearance of Ellen's troublesome brother, the family encounters some new and unexpected challenges.
