About this listen

In the heart of Nashville, where dreams and secrets collide, two women find themselves entangled in a love story that could shatter their worlds or make them whole.

Hannah Taylor, a rising country music sensation, stands on the brink of superstardom. But beneath the glitz and glamour, she harbors a secret, one that could shatter her carefully crafted image and jeopardize her career. In a city where conformity is key, being a queer woman is a battle she fights every day.

Shelby Montgomery is a small-town nobody, striving to provide a better life for her young son. With dreams deferred and a husband who vanished when the going got tough, Shelby's life is a constant struggle. Working tirelessly at a local diner, she dreams of a brighter future but knows she needs a stroke of luck to change her life.

Fate takes an unexpected turn when Hannah stumbles into Shelby's diner, drawn in by the irresistible aroma of Shelby's famous peach cobbler. What starts as a chance encounter soon evolves into a life-altering proposition: Hannah asks Shelby to become her personal chef on a nationwide tour. It's an offer that could upend both of their lives, challenging them to confront their fears and desires.

As they crisscross the country, a powerful connection begins to bloom between them. But in a world where secrets can destroy, Hannah and Shelby must confront their deepest fears. Will they risk it all for a love that defies the odds and find the acceptance they both crave?

In this passionate tale of love, music, and self-discovery, Hannah and Shelby must choose between the safety of the shadows and the brilliance of the spotlight. Can their love story become the chart-topping hit they both deserve, or will a secret tear them apart forever?

An Incredible Story!

This book will take you on rides of emotions that I know I wasn't prepared for. The plot was going along on a fairly standard line, girl meets girl and becomes attracted to each other, goes through some challenges and experiences, but suddenly, it takes a left turn that will blow you away! A great lesson is demonstrated in this one, and that is that we all have room to grow in our maturity and life, and closing doors isn't always the best thing to do.
Lori Prince, once again, brings the story and characters to life and is stellar in her performance. I've seen others who don't appreciate her talent, and that's okay, but I've listened to over 1300 books and she is among the best!

Absolutely Awesome Love Story

Hannah Taylor is a up and coming Nashville country music star who’s is out and proud. Shelby Montgomery is a small town cook and waitress and single parent. After tasting Shelby’s cooking Hannah hires her to be her personal chef. Traveling on a tour bus brings them on so close. A great author and narrator make a magical journey.

Lori Prince is the Best!

At this point I’ve listened to 80% of Lori’s available work on Audible. I can tell when she’s into the story or going through the motions. This story is definitely one she put more effort into.

I’m giving this story 4 stars. Although well written I can’t help but think this is just a carbon copy of another well known book in this genre by another author.

I do wish there was a bit more of a twist to spice up the story itself.

The narrator was just…. So so bad.

The story was ok. Kept me interested enough at least to keep reading. But the narrator gave the characters the worst voices and accents. Completely over the top and just not right, I almost laughed several times. I wish I had more to say for the book but it wasn’t great.
