Publisher's summary

This debut science fiction novel is the story of Sira - a woman on the run from the law, from her own people, and from an unknown figure determined to use her for his own ends. Her memory taken from her by a stasis block, she must stay free long enough to regain both her identity and the full use of her telepathic powers. The price of failure may not only be the loss of her own future, but that of her entire race.

Average. Nothing Special.

Is there anything you would change about this book?

I'd 86 the romance storyline as it doesn't add to the book and makes it more like a YA book than a serious work a science fiction.

What was the most interesting aspect of this story? The least interesting?

It has an interesting twist on the memory loss trope. I wish more had been made of this.

Do you think A Thousand Words for Stranger needs a follow-up book? Why or why not?

Definitely not. Though I believe there are some.

Very young adult, bought it by mistake.

Probably OK if you are a teenager and into scienfe fiction. Uses all the standard tropes. Very good performance by the narrator.

Another GREAT Czerneda book!

Julie introduces a group of characters that you will grow to love through out this book. You'll follow Sira on her journey of self discovery, in that she doesn't know who she is or why people are after her. The friends she makes along the journey and the discoveries she makes along the way will keep you listening for hours. I highly recommend this wonderful series and I'm already listening to the 2nd book now.
