Once I was released from prison, I thought that all of the heartache was over. I was back with my family, and I assumed that the nightmare had come to an end. Little did I know, the nightmare had actually just begun. Everybody around me was keeping secrets that would send me right back to a dark place, a place way worse than the prison that I had just emerged from.

This time of my life was supposed to be my "happily ever after the bullshit." King's empire was bringing in more money than he could count. I was about to get the wedding of my dreams. On the outside, things looked so perfect, and I was beyond happy. In fact, I was so happy that I didn't see the deceit that was happening right under my nose.

They say that every friendship, every relationship, is bound to fall apart when you start keeping secrets. That couldn't be truer with King, Meech, Siren, Dolla, and Jada. They were all keeping secrets that would tear apart our family and our business, and I was too busy in my own immense happiness to even see it.

But soon I would.

Merely weeks after my release, I would find myself, once again, in a world that was turned upside down, and yet again, all of the blame would fall on my undying loyalty to my King.

The book was amazing but some of the words were agreed egregiously mispronounced and it's very frustrating when you can hear the word throughout the text over and over again please go back and have the author of the book give you the proper pronunciation of some of these words it takes away from the story when it's not right

I think I listened to both books within 3 day lol!! I enjoyed this series and now I’m invested in this and can’t wait for the third part! All of the characters are great! Would highly recommend.

This author is AMAZING to say the very least. The drama continues in such a realistic and captivating way. I feel like I'm a part of the crew and the deceit is thrilling and nail biting. I yell at the characters like they can hear me! lol easily a great read. on to book 3!

This book was great. The women in here are all some characters. The narration kept me listening.

This one was a good book. I enjoyed reading how the characters navigated through the drama that came their way. I was not surprised when the truth came out about the secret that was being held by King. I was disappointed with Kennedy's reaction but I could understand how it looked. Can't wait to see how things turn out.

The female narrator was not a good choice for this book at all. The male voice I could picture as King

I got lost going home because I was so engulfed in the storyline. Damn Jess! You won't let me make it home with Dolla and Siren?

Now I will say Miranda Jaye voice doesn't fit the women characters in this story. It sounds like a Wannabe White Woman trying to act like Hood. Not a good look gor me...

For you Jess, I'll try to get over it. You know we living in BLM Movement...

I started listening because honestly, I had 28 credits and needed something to listen to after I had heard all of my crime story podcast. I initially started with “When the Side N!gga Catch Feelings” it was everything!!! I then discovered this series and I am officially hooked! Jessica I don’t know who you are, but on everything your talent supersedes all expectations of what I thought I was going to get initially VERSUS WHAT I GOT! I’m hooked! I’ve now purchased the entire series and can’t wait to finish! Keep them coming!

The book has a great flow and dialect for an urban book. The book can make you feel like you are right there with the Characters.
