About this listen

Alana Powers is a triple threat. Brains, beauty, and intelligence.

As a smart and savvy businesswoman, Alana's drive and passion for ensuring the success of Powers Construction is unparalleled. Nothing and no one can get in her way—except marriage.

Noah Tate is caring, compassionate, and driven by his need to succeed. Fresh out of jail, past mistakes are now behind him, and Noah is determined to prove that he has learned valuable lessons about life. This time, he refuses to allow anything to stand in his way. Unfortunately, his record is proving to be more of a hindrance than he expects.

A blessing falls into Noah's lap, leading him to Powers Construction and right to the woman he knows will change the trajectory of his life, but only if he can convince her that love can be a struggle but it's definitely worth fighting for.

Loved it!!

I loved this book, Noah was too good for his parents. The Bishop was the worse father who lets someone mistreat their child. Brenda should have left his ass if she didn’t want to raise the child as her own not mistreat an innocent child, she wouldn’t have had to do that had she not killed his mother. She’s the worst type of person. But that boomerang came back around with the treatment she received from her own son. I love how Noah’s life worked out with him finding the one for him and building a beautiful life and career with Alana and his baby girl Nova on the way.

The Faith & Spice didn’t work in this book…🤦🏾‍♀️

I found the story to be just okay, but it felt poorly constructed, as if the author hastily put it together. Unfortunately, the narrators did not meet my expectations, which I thought they would based on other reviews I had read. I was quite unimpressed overall.

Alana's character came across as a brat and was often disrespectful to Noah, leaving me questioning why he would fall in love with someone who seemed so ratchet and unrefined for a person that grew up an only child of wealth and prestige. This aspect felt unrealistic and it detracted from my enjoyment of the story because she was at times very mean to Noah. Noah was an amazing man but his story felt incomplete and lacked depth. There were so many elements that seemed to be missing, which made it difficult to fully engage with his journey.
