Publisher's summary

War correspondent Jennie King thinks she's just a temporary guest in her grandmother's Amish community while she recuperates from the devastating injuries sustained in a car-bomb attack that changed her world. But when she meets Matthew Bontrager, the man she had a crush on as a teenager, she wonders if God has a new plan for her. Jennie has emotional and physical scars, and though she feels she has come home to this man and this place, she's not sure she can bridge the difference between their worlds.

A delightful heartwarming story

I really enjoyed the characters as well as the story of the Amish people. I learned so much and enjoyed so much. The writing is wonderful and compelling. It was difficult to put the book down, or in this case turn it off. I think I will definitely be able to read more of this authors books.

Another delightful visit to Amish neighbors

It’s so delightful to spend some time relaxing with such a wonderful author who has such engaging characters. It’s so easy to fall in love with the people who inhabit Ms. Cameron’s books and the lifestyle they lead. It’s lovely to step away from the hustle and bustle of every day life and enjoy some quiet time with our Amish neighbors. Even if they aren’t real. Thank you again for hours of peace.

Too drawn out.

The story is ok, but I thought it was just too drawn out. Could use a little more suspense.

great book

really appreciated this book. it is about a wounded war correspondent who returned to live with her amish grandmother while she recouperates from the car bomb that she miraculously survived. after undergoing surgeries, she goes to live with her grandmother who works hard to help with the pstd the gal is experincing. more surgeries are in the offing along with physical therapy to try to help with her speech as well as physically. in the meantime an amish widower with three children have fallen in love with her. a great story of hope, despair and love. I think you will like this book. no illicit sex. narrator is fine.

Window into Another Existence

JWright
The story was interesting and kept my attention. I enjoyed learning about customs with which I am totally unfamiliar. I alway love the inclusion of faith in God and the truth of His word.
Although the performer/reader has a soothing voice that seems to blend well with the story, she mispronounced “Ecclesiastes” and confused characters names once or twice.
This story differs from others about the Amish with which I am familiar, but in a positive way. I plan to read Book 2 in the series,

It was ok

Just ok. Predictable, weak, poor plot and character development, but somewhat entertaining. Good overall performance.
