Story
Nate doesn’t want to listen. He’s between missions and just wants to relax, not to travel hundreds of miles and hunt for the driver of the car that hit someone he doesn’t even know. But ignoring the call is not an option. What Nate had hoped would be a simple mission turns into something much more sinister, when he discovers a wide-reaching evil, festering in a small Northern California town. To confront it, he will need all the skills he’s learned working in the shadow world.

This series is excellent
I don’t like the constant mispronunciation of words and the choices that Blake makes in who performs his stories, but the stories are so good. Twisty, turny, full of badass womanhood and darkness.

Great story, recording ok
There are some major sound issues, such as mic clipping, ASMR issues in the sound recording of the performer. There are fans, ending of line cuts noise, sound gate issues, repeat lines, and plain old blowing out of the microphone when the performer is trying to convey a bigger voice. I’m no pro, but even an amateur like myself finds things like this avoidable, and sonically distracting from the story. Didn’t someone check this? At one point in the previous story I almost fell off a ladder as I was working due to the sound editing being SO LOUD from one sentence to another. Alas, I stuck with the story and I’m glad. It’s good despite the switch of performers (which I’m not terribly thrilled with) and the sound issues. Where is Elaine Wise?!?

Last Book in series?
Surely I hope there is more to come. Finishing omg up the 5th book in the Keri locke series which came way too soon. I read all 5 books in less then a couple days. It all started from a sample read. I actually never read anything by Blake Pierce before this series. I look forward to reading more books by Blake Pierce. Happy endings in detective books are just awesome. Can't get into details about the book or the series because when I do I always end up giving an essay on it. lol. Then I give up so many spoilers. So trust when I say I totally Recommend this series to everyone interested in this genre. You won't be disappointed.

Loved loved loved
Loved this series and I recommend that you just get over the narrators and focus on the story. Detective Locke and the love for her daughter man that is just the best. I just love detective Locke!!!! This book was a little weird but none the less this a great read!!! And as always the narrator could have been different but the story beats it all

Same story ?
I started with the Riley Page series and was excited to read the Keri Locke stories. Unfortunately, sometimes the writing seems incredibly cheesy. There are SO many similarities with the main character - a rule breaking detective who seems to be the only one who can solve cases, a love/hate boss relationship, a partner she secretly loves, saving another kid instead of a child prostitute a kid who was trafficked, an ex husband who is despised and seems like a terrible person. I wish I would have liked this series more.
