About this listen
Lori Harder is a self-love expert with over one million listeners on her Earn Your Happy podcast. In A Tribe Called Bliss, she shares the exact structure she used to build her own tribe and grow from the anxiety-ridden, unhealthy, introverted underachiever she was to the confident woman who takes risks and leaps out of her comfort zone, with a foreword from number one New York Times best-selling author Gabrielle Bernstein.
The benefits of a having a tribe are undeniable. Women who have strong social circles are living longer, happier, healthier lives in comparison to those who lack connections and are mentally and physically exhausting themselves trying to quench external desires in isolation.
Today, we live in an uber-connected era, where anyone is able to make thousands of friends and participate in their lives with the swipe of a finger. Why, then, in such a connected time in history, do so many women feel disconnected, confined, misunderstood, and defeated or think that success is a solo project?
In A Tribe Called Bliss, Lori Harder bridges the gap between inspiration and action, providing a lasting resource for positive change and a guidebook for establishing a support tribe. This practical book is for the growing audience of women seeking the sisterhood and connection they crave so much. It encourages readers to examine life on a micro level, and Lori provides lessons and contextual self-work exercises on how to develop the kind of awareness of the present moment that is the key to a lifetime of blissful happiness.

Story
Twenty-seven-year-old rapper, songwriter, and producer Russ walks his own path, at his own pace. By doing so, he proved that he didn’t need a major label to surpass over a billion streams on Spotify/Apple Music, sell out arenas across the US and around the globe, and become one of the most popular and engaged rappers right now. His method was simple: love and believe in yourself absolutely and work hard no matter what. In this memoir, Russ inspires listeners to walk to their individual rhythms.

Have you ever wondered "Why did I do that?" or "Why can't I just control my behavior?" Others may judge our reactions and think, "What's wrong with that person?" When questioning our emotions, it's easy to place the blame on ourselves; holding ourselves and those around us to an impossible standard. It's time we started asking a different question. Through deeply personal conversations, Oprah Winfrey and renowned brain and trauma expert Dr. Bruce Perry offer a groundbreaking and profound shift from asking “What’s wrong with you?” to “What happened to you?”

Story
For decades we've been told that positive thinking is the key to a happy, rich life. "F*ck positivity," Mark Manson says. "Let's be honest, shit is f*cked, and we have to live with it." In his wildly popular Internet blog, Manson doesn't sugarcoat or equivocate. He tells it like it is - a dose of raw, refreshing, honest truth that is sorely lacking today. The Subtle Art of Not Giving a F*ck is his antidote to the coddling, let's-all-feel-good mind-set that has infected modern society and spoiled a generation, rewarding them with gold medals just for showing up.

Who would imagine being friends with Eve - the woman who’s been held responsible for the fall of humanity (and cramps) for thousands of years? Certainly not Sarah Jakes Roberts. That is, not until Sarah discovered she is more like Eve than she cares to admit. Everyone faces trials, and everyone will mess up. But failure should not be the focus. Your focus should not be on who you were but rather the pursuit of who you can become.

Story
Raised in a devoutly Catholic home, Kelly Bandas spent her entire childhood trying hard not to tick off “the man” or the Lord. And for the most part, she crushed it. But as she got older and began to navigate what it looked like to truly live in a world where gender roles, race, and politics weren’t always so black and white, Kelly realized that her former worldview was beginning to feel like that pair of Forever 21 jeans that used to glide effortlessly over her hips but now required a lot of stretching and acrobatic maneuvering to shimmy into place. And she’s not alone.

Uplifting and insightful
This book was a revelation to my introverted soul. Though I feel more comfortable behind a computer screen than seeing someone face-to-face, I always would envy the girls were successful with a great tribe and wonder why I couldn’t cultivate the same. The way do you have friends the busyness of day-to-day life tends to dilute opportunity to see them as much as I would like. I never realized that I was missing their feedback and support so much until I read this book.
Though I was able to achieve a moderate amount of success riding solo, taking the leap into creating the time for my tribe of friends and expanding that tried to include colleagues and like-minded individuals has exponentially helped my mindset, my mood, my motivation, and my success rate at my business.
This book is uplifting, insightful, and so much fun to read. I hope that it has impacted everyone who reads it the way it did me.

Life changing
I started listening to this book during my daily bike rides. Second day in I was so mindful and was connecting to every word that Lori was talking about that I biked double my normal time as I didn’t want to stop listening. Every day I was excited to start back up where I left off to see what was next. I met one of my friends for breakfast after sharing the book via Auidiable and first things we said “we need to start our own Tribe called bliss”. Our paperback book arrives on Tuesday and we already for our 3rd lady. We ordered 4 books just in case another beautiful lady comes into our lives.
So grateful!

Lori brings the CONNECTION, LOVE, and JOY
Lori exudes love in all that she does, so it’s no wonder this book is everything and more. She shares vulnerably her story in order to show women the power of connection.
If you find yourself saying things like “it’s so hard to find good girlfriends,” then this book is for YOU. It’s not your typical self development book but it WILL develop your soul. Get ready to listen and learn about the power of connecting to your TRIBE and feel the love and joy pour straight from Lori’s heart.
Thank you for being a light in this world!

It Just didn't resonate with me
In all fairness, it may have been the timing as I was listening to it on a long drive to a sales meeting. It's started out great, but I didn't feel that the complete, graphic details of her kidnapping and rape were necessary to get her point across. Maybe she got relief from finally sharing - and maybe she is totally trying to focus on attracting a tribe which I am not a part of. Needless to say - I will never finish the book.

The book had many nuggets. She really shared a lot about her experience and seems to want to help other women get out of their own way. If you don’t do the works it’s just another good book but if you do the work, you will grow!
