A vast and largely unseen transformation of how war is fought as profound as the invention of gunpowder or advent of the nuclear age is occurring. Flying cars that can land like helicopters, artificial intelligence-powered drones that can fly into buildings and map their interiors, microsatellites that can see through clouds and monitor rogue missile sites—all these and more are becoming part of America’s DIU-fast-tracked arsenal. Until recently, the Pentagon was known for its uncomfortable relationship with Silicon Valley and for slow-moving processes that acted as a brake on innovation.

The nature of war is constant change. We live in an era of exponential technological acceleration which is transforming how wars are waged. Today, the battlespace is transparent; multi-domain sensors can see anything, and long-range precision fire can target everything that is observed. Autonomous weapons can be unleashed into the battlespace and attack any target from above, hitting the weakest point of tanks and armored vehicles. The velocity of war is hyper-fast.

The ancient Toltecs believed that life, as we perceive it, is a dream. We each live in our own personal dream, and these come together to form the dream of the planet, or the world in which we live. Problems arise when our perception of the dream becomes clouded with negativity, drama, and judgment (of ourselves and others), because it's in these moments of suffering that we have forgotten that we are the architects of our own reality and we have the power to change our dream if we choose.

Perfect! Absolutely engaging!
A few months ago I purchased this excellent book and read it from cover to cover, I knew I would be reading it a second time! Except, the audio version came out just in time. I was delighted to hear that Dr. Biltgen would be reading the book! He truly has a remarkable ability to make complex concepts easily accessible and engaging.
He combines his authoritative knowledge of artificial intelligence with an exceptional talent for explanation. He takes great care to impart great insights from his thorough research of highly technical concepts in this magnificent work. It is not only that I am a huge fan of the ideas and topics that Dr. Biltgen has thoroughly researched and laid out for us here, but rather, he truly does have a unique talent for writing, speaking, and communication of these concepts that is truly captivating.
He guides the listener through understanding the powerful role that AI plays in the operations of critical defense and intelligence agencies. This audio book is filled with a wealth of information and examples that vividly illustrate how AI is transforming these sectors and shaping their future.
Dr. Biltgen also took the care to include visual guides and references that help us navigate the complexities of AI algorithms and autonomous systems. He makes many of these technical concepts come to live!
As a developer and cybersecurity enthusiast, I found particular value in the sections detailing the challenges and solutions for scaling AI in the cloud. The discussions on practical applications were equally enlightening. Dr. Biltgen emphasizes a critical point that resonates with my work: the need for building robust and resilient AI systems that can withstand adversarial attacks and operate reliably in complex, dynamic environments.
Throughout the reading of his book, Dr. Biltgen engages listeners in thoughtful discussions on the importance of data security, privacy, and trustworthiness in the age of AI. These topics are at the forefront of current cybersecurity challenges, and seeing them addressed in this context was particularly valuable to me. He also addresses the critical role of international collaboration and ethical implications of AI in defense and intelligence.
Through Dr. Biltgen's expertise, dedication, and evident passion for these topics, I gained a deeper appreciation for the transformative power of AI. The book opened my eyes to its multifaceted potential for making our future not just more technologically advanced, but also more prosperous, safer, and more secure.
I highly recommend this book to anyone involved in technology, security, policy-making, or anyone who is simply interested in how AI is shaping our world - this book offers invaluable insights.
The voice and tone are very pleasant and engaging. I highly recommend this book!
