About this listen

Lucelle Raad is an artist whose original paintings and prints decorate countless walls of homes in the United States and Europe, as well as in other locations throughout the world. The majority of her subjects are children, as well they should be, for children are the most innocent, unassuming people there are to paint.

She wasn’t always an artist, however. In fact, she never intended to be anything but a happy, well-adjusted adult - the goal of all children, whether they realize it or not. How she came to be an artist is quite another story altogether - and it happened completely by accident. Join Lucy (as she prefers to be called) on the wonderful journey of her life. Accidental Artist will not only tickle your funny bone, it'll also bring a tear to your eyes.

Familiar with Lucelle Raad's delightful paintings of children at the seaside and having corresponded with her occasionally in connection with her paintings, I purchased her paperback book and also this Audible book. The narrator has done a great job of bringing Lucelle's story to life and I could not stop listening. It is a lively and interesting account of her life as well as very honest and perceptive. The story moves quickly never bogging down but allowing you to feel you are on this adventure with her sharing her insight and experience. There is heartache and disappointment but also humor, fun, courage and resilience. Most of all, there is a wonderful gumption and zest for life that shows in her gratitude - a sterling example of a life well lived in all its ups and downs. This is a story definitely worth reading and listening to!

Well told personal story!
