I stumbled upon this podcast on my quest to listen to all things horse while I clean my stalls and I was not disappointed in the podcast content as I have almost listen to all of them. I heard a reference of the horse doctors husband book and sought it out I was not disappointed if you like James Harriet style books in which they talk about the different Farm calls then you’ll like this but with a modern twist and you get a little bit of education but without being completely overwhelmed by horse health education.

Loved it. I have listened to the Straight From the Horse Doctors Mouth podcast for a long time and was excited to listen to this book. I knew it would be great! The stories are educational, touching and sometimes hilarious! I’m starting the second book now.

Great look into what it takes to be an equine veterinarian from an outside perspective.

I could not put this book down! Justin Long has written and narrated a story of adventure, dedication, and loving care as he and his wife, Dr. Erica Larcher, equine vet extraordinaire, care for their own animals, and hit the road on emergency call after call. The stories of the professional veterinary care provided as well as the care and concern given to the animals’ people is extraordinary. Justin Ling had a true broadcaster’s voice making the book a true listening pleasure.

This is a Well-Written and Beautifully Narrated Story of a Wonderful Equine Veterinarian and Her Husband!

Highly recommended! The characters are likeable and real and the stories are entertaining and relatable. Loved it.

Heartwarming and funny stories about the vet's practice. Author could benefit from significant editing. He admits he's obsessive-compulsive; he needs to skip the moment-by-moment details. Dialogue could be less mundane.

The stories would also benefit from cutting the profanity.  Spare us.

This book is written for high school level readers . Has none of the in depth characters of a well written book . The vet stories are mundane , and most of the drama is because the main character is hungry and needs to eat . Waste of time
