About this listen

An unpausable EMP thriller boxset with a brilliant twist! Over 150+ Reviews!

In a flash, an EMP blast disables North America's entire east coast.

When an EMP brings the United States to its knees, Mary must fight to survive amid the terror descending upon the city and rescue her family.

Hide Away

James and Marla Weller are preparing for a relaxing weekend, when an unexpected blackout spreads far beyond their St. Louis suburb and starts a devastating chain reaction. But the disabled power grid was only the beginning of a national nightmare as their vehicles and cell phones won’t function either.

A series of building explosions rock downtown, leading to a mandatory evacuation. Amid the chaos, the young couple must make a decision on where to go. A possible solution emerges when a self-proclaimed survivalist offers them refuge in his remote cabin far from the city and away from the chaos. But James and Marla soon discover that survival isn’t as clear as they think, and that escape can lead to dangers all its own.

A little childish at times

The effort not to specify a location (ect. city ,state) is annoying. The characters like any depth.

Frustrating

Ramona Master as a narrator is hard to listen to. The vocal inflections are very random, leaving the listener wanting to know if there was a question or some adrenalin inducing moment that they missed. She emphasizes words for no apparent reason. It is hard to explain but imagine reading the following sentence as a question and putting an inflection of shock and disbelief on the words "the eggs". "James tried to eat the eggs, but found he had no appetite."

The stories were not believable. In the first, Mary ran away from her prepper father's lifestyle (or lack thereof) but for some reason taught it all to her daughter. The portrayal of all men as being lascivious is ridiculous. The use of "F" bombs and slang is naïve and shows a complete lack of street experience. Way too many coincidences and gratuitous gore. The second story is even worse with a random introduction that alludes to a future, however the back story is the story. Very confusing.
