About this listen

While visiting their friends Chase and Haylee in Alaska, Don and Samantha learn of the EMP attack on the lower 48 United States on October 28th.

Having been spared the devastating effects up there, the four of them rushed home to Michigan to "rescue" their parents and bring them back to Alaska—3,000 miles each way.

Travel with them and see through their eyes what might happen to our neighbors if the greatest country on the planet was caught by surprise and knocked to its knees….

Things won’t go as smoothly as expected, they never do, but you won’t believe the curveballs thrown at them from virtually the moment they leave.

Join them on an adventure different from all the others, In The October Fall World.

"The author of this story, Keven Craven, is a third-generation disaster fiction storyteller offering his first published work here. If you’ve read much in this genre, you’ve probably read some of his dad’s stories, Boyd Craven III, or his grandpa’s, Boyd Craven Jr. They couldn’t be more proud of him!" (Raventhorne Books)

Really good book. Well written with a twist. In this series only the USA gets hit. Narration is well done & easy to listen to. If you're a fan of EMP stories add this one to your library.

All of the characters were well written and likable for the most part. Definitely interested in reading and/or listening to the rest of this series. I would definitely recommend it.

I like this book but it was also kinda slow. Took them forever to get anywhere. But in all, the story was good and narrator was super.

I came upon this series from a new friend and I'm glad I did. I really enjoyed the characters, the plot and unexpected turn of events throughout the story. I was thrilled to discover there's additional books in this series. The story is full of adventure. The ongoing challenges of travel from Alaska through Canada to the lower 48, during a post apocalyptic event are well thought out and believable; especially when the reader has lived in Alaska for over 20 yrs. It's refreshing to see an author do his research, and portray his characters with a sense of knowledge to locations that actually exist. The book is masterly narrated by Miles Mieli, who as always is stellar in his audio performance. If your contemplating buying this book, don't second guess the purchase. Each book will keep you captivated and wanting more. Mellissa Allex

I’m excited to see another Craven get into the craft. I didn’t expect this early effort to be this good. It’s pretty decent storytelling. Someday I expect he’ll be excellent. Meanwhile I’ll be patiently encouraging young Keven. Stay at it sir, you have a good start on the basics.

Decent first effort

I really enjoy all of Boyd’s stuff,
There’s a pretty good twist interns in this one. It’ll be interesting to see what happens in book 2.
