Publisher's summary

I tried not to look at the men so that I could focus on keeping my movements silent. I certainly did not want to be detected. It was impossible, however, to keep my eyes completely off the terrifying drama unfolding before me. I was certain they planned to kill the man, and I had no way of helping him. The best I could do was get to safety and call the police. I had slunk my way to the left of them and was right alongside the river now. I crept along keeping a wary eye on the men. I don't know whether I gasped, screamed, or made a sudden movement, but suddenly both sets of eyes of the evil men turned towards me just as the shot sounded. I ran as fast as I could, ignoring the ripping pain in my side, and jumped off the edge into the rushing water below.

Love love love!

This is a really fun and exciting book! I cannot wait to get the rest and find out what happens next! The main character is a strong willed woman who really does her best to fight back and isn't scared to say what she wants and doesn't want! my only problem at all with the book was I wished there was a better explanation as to what the "others" are, I'm hoping there is more to that in future books! Highly recommend and here I go to buy book 2!

OK, on to book two!

This is an amazingly brilliant book. Marla creates an imaginative story with superb detail. The characters were well thought out and developed.
I started this book around 11pm. My Mistake. I found myself staying up till 4 am until the morning till book was done. I just couldn't stop listening.

The ending wrapped up nicely and leads you into the next book, bonus! no cliffhanger! I am moving on to book two now.

Jamie, the narrator, did a great job with the voices. and though this was the first I have had the pleasure of listening to her. I would listen to a book she reads again.

Mysterious

Would you listen to Alexander Ranch again? Why?

Yes, I would and will. I am sure I miss some things when I first listen to a story as my mind sometimes wanders. However, this is an excellent book by a wonderfully new-to-me author. That in itself will ensure I listen to it again.

What did you like best about this story?

The mystery involved in everyone's powers. I want to learn more about them and hope it will be expanded upon in future books!

Which scene was your favorite?

The scene in the barn when Jordan saved Layla and we first got a sense of the power this group holds.

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

The beginning of the book when Jordan rescued Kayla. I loved reading how she came to trust him to keep her safe from the bad guys.

Any additional comments?

I highly recommend this book. The narration is wonderful and the intonations are great. I can't wait to listen to the next book.

Unique Suspense Thriller with a Hint of Paranormal

First, let’s address the elephant in the room, the cover art for this audiobook is horrible and it’s a shame, because as horrible as it is, the exact opposite is true of this wonderful story and since most people buy with their eyes, this little gem of a book, I’m certain, gets overlooked. (Drops mic) Okay on with my review.

All Lela Charles wants is to spend some alone time enjoying the great outdoors, but fate, it seems thinks Lela needs a little bit of excitement, and she stumbles upon 3 men in the forest, one of them on his knees, the other two with guns in their hand. When a fight between the men ensues, Lela quietly beats feet to find help, but not quiet enough and soon Lela’s in a fight for her life as well! Fortunately for her, she gets some unexpected and unwanted help from the Alexander clan.

I absolutely loved this cat and mouse thriller which throws in a touch of the paranormal. The Narrator Jaime Lamchick did a good job voicing the characters in this 5 plus hour audiobook and the production quality was excellent.

This is the first audiobook in the series and I look forward to listening to the next book in the series.

This audiobook was gifted to me exchange for an unbiased review!

Loved this book! Can't wait for the next one!

Just finished listening to Alexander Ranch and loved it! After reading some of the reviews, I thought that I might want to wait until all 3 of the books were out because some of the reviewers said it was a cliffhanger. ( I really like to wait and read them all together!) But it really wasn't. Yes, I wanted to see where the relationship went, but the story line ended. The mystery was solved. Now I can't wait to see what happens with Lela and Jordan and the other characters in the book. I especially liked that the characters were "special." Just a touch of the paranormal. This story was fast paced and kept me listening. Also the narrator was really good and very easy to listen to. I look forward to listening to the next 2 books in the series.

Great listen!

I found this to be a great story! It was really a creative story. I don’t read very many paranormal stories but this one was good… captivating. What I really liked about Marla Joseph’s writing was that she goes right into the story. She doesn’t lollygag and waste time with parts of a story that isn’t needed. We have an animal doctor that has an amazing power. Lela’s uninterested in dating, and maybe because of that, Jordan is drawn to her.

I really enjoyed Jordan. He just seemed to drawn to Lela and even though the situation was dangerous, he had to help her. Lela was just as amazing. Lela literally stumbles upon a situation that puts her life in danger. Jordan is there to help… or is he?

Jaime Lamchick was fantastic!! A good narrator brings books to another level and that’s exactly what Lamchick does, granted, I didn’t read this book. I felt this book read to me (does that make sense?). It’s more an experience than just reading a book! Good job to both the author and narrator!

Love this series

The journey begins! I am so excited to be listening to this series. I am not normally a paranormal listener, but I love romance and mystery so gave it a try. I am loving this. Meeting Lela, and her first encounter seeing a murder has led her on a path that will change her life. Jordan, a drainer, has found her and here we get to meet the incredible cast of characters that Marla Josephs has created for us. Jordan is part of a family that has drainers and healers. The family has a ranch and security service that searches out and helps to stop "the bad guys". I don't want to get into spoilers but the relationships that build between Lela and Jordan, and the family of Ethan, Logan, Daisy and Grace are complex, yet so much fun that you get completely wrapped up in the story.

The romance between Jordan and Lela is revving up, so I am looking forward to the rest of the series to see where this may go. I can feel Lela's reluctance to be with him, and it's totally driving me crazy!

Jaime Lamchick is the narrator, and she is spot on for this book. She brings life and emotion into the characters, and creates the picture that Marla Josephs wants you to see in your head. Definite listen!

Alexander Ranch book1

This was a fun story. Lots of action, mystery, a little paranormal (which I loved) and some serious sexual tension. I am looking forward to book 2 to continue the mystery! I love listening to audio it brings these stories to life! I could so see the river scene playing out. And I love the voice of the narrator.

book 1 alexander ranch

loved book 1! you definitely need to start with book 1 before book 2 to understand the story ! it gives a background of the characters and how they got to where they are by the end of book 1! its funny, even i felt some stalker tendencies from jordan in the beginning! love thats its a girls voice and a guys voice telling the story. this is different from anything else that it sucks you in the moment it starts! makes you wonder whats going to happen, does lela have super powers like jordan and the rest? will she survive the bad guys?? will lela come to her senses and fall in love with Jordan or ethan? Cant wait for book 2! was given a copy of this audiobook for free by my request and voluntarily left this review!
