Meh

I was initially intrigued, but after reading it I am left a little speechless. I'm not happy for the situation, but I'm also not super mad. The story did bring up questions, like is this all a rouse and are they being honest, for now I'm not sure if I'll continue the series, but it does have me asking questions.

Alien bride

The narration was sing song like. It took away the enjoyment of the story. I wanted to read the story myself.

Wished it was longer!

Where does Alien's Bride, Book One rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?

This book as a series will absolutely rank in the top five paranormal sci-fi "alien abduction" books. But this book by itself (since it is not complete) is still very good. Just keep in mind that it will be a very quick listen! The narrator Rose does a great job of conveying all the voices but at first I hated her voice the first time I heard it. My advice is if you listen to the entire story she is very good at making you BELIEVE this is the character's voice. She seems to understand the authors writing style and makes the characters believable. I didn't expect to enjoy this book as much as I did. I thought it was going to be boring like the Terra Mates series...but that is just my preference. This book is heavy on "internal dialogue" and low on action/plot development. So if you like the main character you will like this book because you will know at all times what the main character is thinking. So keep that in mind.

What was one of the most memorable moments of Alien's Bride, Book One?

Don't want to give anything away. But for me it was the last 30 minutes of the book. It gave a new perspective to the entire plight of the lead character Maritza! Very disturbing but well done and unexpected. Made me look forward to book number two!

Which character – as performed by Rose DeMarco – was your favorite?

All of them were excellent. She figured out a way to make the male lead sound pleasant without sounding overly masculine or girly.

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

I thought the book was very funny in certain parts. Maritza was a great character who was trying really hard to wrap her head around her crazy situation. As a reader you just wanted to understand more about this new world just like Maritza. So her character was just as curious as you yourself the listener is.

Any additional comments?

I wish this series was offered as an omnibus. I HATE waiting in between as each audiobook comes out. For everyone who isn't sure about purchasing this book listen to the sample and buy it if you love alien sci-fi type romances. Otherwise you'll feel like you only bought a third of a story and won't want to continue. For me this was a GREAT buy with a AWESOME narrator with a story that kept my interest which I can't say for other audiobooks I've bought that are three times this one's length!

First Installment in Alien's Bride series

Love Abraham's wildly creative imagination. It can take you to places you've never been before. Be adventurous. Narration works.

Even though she is kidnapped. She likes her alien husband.. The man servant is mean to her. This is the same template as all the other anglo girl get grabbed by alien male.. falls in love but has to help other earth females that have been kidnapped too.. All anglo females.. flip a coin on this one.

Book 2 please.....

What did you love best about Alien's Bride, Book One?

I LOVED the whole idea behind this story, I loved how Maritza held heslef together after waking up in the future & in the company of aliens, yes she did freak out just a little, but what person wouldn't?

What other book might you compare Alien's Bride, Book One to and why?

Hmmm I don't really like comparing books/ audiobooks with others, it's not really fair.

What does Rose DeMarco bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

I thought Rose brought a new depth to Maritza's character, yes she was in a whole new time period & in company of aliens, but she barely freaked out. As I haven't read the book, I can't really say much more.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

I did listen to this book in one sitting, it was short enough & kept my attention all through out.

Any additional comments?

Hmm now I need to know if Maritza finds out the truth for herself, I was left wondering, especially when the book ended & we just heard from the women through the domestic robots.

A Great Start to an Interesting Relationship

Would you listen to Alien's Bride, Book One again? Why?

Yes, I would. The book was well narrated and I felt like I was there with Maritza.

What was one of the most memorable moments of Alien's Bride, Book One?

One of the most memorable times was when Maritza first snaps at her kidnapper. She reacted the same as I did as I listened.

Which character – as performed by Rose DeMarco – was your favorite?

Maritza is my favorite character. She's been thrust into a crazy situation, but she still manages to keep her wits about her and is as feisty as I would have been under the strange circumstances.

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

There wasn't really a part that moved me, but the thought that Maritza was taken to a point in time that made attempting to escape her captors seem pointless really stuck with me. Another part was the last few scenarios Maritza was placed in where her husband felt that it was important to not keep secrets from her, and in the next moment she was placed in a position where she has to keep a secret from him.

Any additional comments?

I really would like to read/listen to the next book. I'd like to see where things go now that Maritza is married and what happens with the remaining humans.

Steamy and exotic!

I really loved the whole concept for this book. The main character is interesting and the narrator really succeeds in giving her a lot of depth. As always, Yamila's books are very gripping and make you excited for more.
