Steena, the heroine of this story, is unlike the typical sci-fi heroine. Her intelligence and resourcefulness lead her and her companions to find the derelict spaceship, confront the other-world creatures that haunt it, and win over evil. Andre Norton's voice is surprising and memorable, meriting her reputation as a master in the sci-fi world.

Lovely story. I have loved Andre Norton’s books since I was twelve and discovered her. She led me into many discoveries from the content of her stories. In those days, they wrote books for boys, thinking that only boys would like science fiction. But they were wrong!
