Publisher's summary

Toni Davis's Christmas wish list:

1. Springing my best friend from the psych ward.
2. Living somewhere that doesn't have coffins in the basement. Occupied coffins.
3. Finding Mr. Right. Please make him tall, dark, handsome, and alive.

This Christmas isn't so merry for Toni. Her best friend's been locked up in a mental hospital ever since she told the police she was attacked by vampires, and the only way for Toni to get her out is to prove that bloodsuckers really do exist. So she's taken a job as a bodyguard for the Undead, but she gets more than she bargained for, especially when she meets Ian MacPhie, a Scottish rascal looking for Ms. Right. Although Ian's nearly five centuries old, he looks and acts like a 27-year-old hunk. How can a dead man be so damn sexy? Could Mr. Wrong be Mr. Right? One forbidden kiss could lead to an eternity of passion, and all it takes is one moment under the mistletoe....

Sexy Christmas Vampire

We picked this book for our Christmas episode and were so happy to find an old friend. The story and plot reminded us of the first books we ever read in this genre and why we fell in love with paranormal romance in the first place. Ian, a 700 year old vampire is looking for his true love. He thinks he wants a vampire so they can start out on a true equal and honest footing. But he can’t get the new human security guard Toni out of his head. Toni thinks she hates vamps and is just looking to prove their existence to help her friend, but seeing the kind and generous family they have created brings her pause. Ian’s dogged persistence also starts to crack her walls. The sex scenes are so real and so fun they make our hearts sing. Who is up for some sexy Dracula roleplaying?! This book was a breath of fresh air in a genre dominated by books where the fate of the world is at stake, we loved just reading about a couple finding love even though one is a vampire.

Funny and sexy

Sexy Scottish Vampires! trying to find his true love on the web of all places. It is a great setup for a comedy and it is. It's not slapstick comedy but it has it's moments and I had fun!

Always cute

What made the experience of listening to All I Want for Christmas Is a Vampire the most enjoyable?

This was a cute and sweet book, one of her best so far. I loved Ian and his struggle for acceptance. Here is a man willing to induing and struggle to find his one true love. Plus I listened to it around Christmas and that made it all the sweeter.

What other book might you compare All I Want for Christmas Is a Vampire to and why?

This book had the humerus quality's of the first book in the series, the laugh out loud sort of book. Most enjoyable

Fun & Sexy PNR Listen

Rating: B
Narration: B-

All I Want for Christmas is a Vampire is a fun and sexy paranormal listen.

The narrator, Coleen Marlo did a pretty good job with the narration but I found her accents for the male character slip from time to time. A Scottish brogue would change to something that sounded Russian then back to Scottish. And I didn’t care for her voice for Phineas I thought it was cheesy and a little racist or stereotyping of a black man, which changed my narration rating from a B to a B-. I think this book/series would be a great fit for Robert Petkoff, who narrates Kresely Cole’s IAD series. If he had narrated I could easily see my rating for the narration go to an A.

All I Want for Christmas is a Vampire was a fun paranormal romance listen with just enough touches of the holiday season to put me in the mood for my very own Scottish Vampire for Christmas. The plot and characters are you typical PNR series format. Couple meets and there’s a push and pull with the romance to finally end in a HEA. Sparks weaves humor and just enough action/danger to the romance. This is the 1st series where I didn’t start with the 1st book in the series but like most PNR series I was fine. I was not lost in the plot since it was about one couple. I’m sure the other couples mentioned are in the earlier books of the series so I will go back and start from the beginning and I’m bet I’ll see Ian, the yummy Scot vamp before he grows a few inches (LOL).

While I was not a huge fan of the narration of some of the characters, I enjoyed All I Want for Christmas is a Vampire and I will be listening to the earlier books in the series. Each book has a different narrator so it will be interesting to see which ones I like and which ones I don’t.

Will I continue this series? Yes. I will continue this series by starting with the 1st book.

Would I read this author again? Yes. Sparks does a great job of mixing sexy and humor.

Great book

What made the experience of listening to All I Want for Christmas Is a Vampire the most enjoyable?

I have read the book and I loved it. Having it read to you is so much better i can take it with me in my car and its just nice to have that option.

What other book might you compare All I Want for Christmas Is a Vampire to and why?

I would say you can read anything that is from Kerrelyn Sparks or Lynsay Sands. If you are looking for good books that have vampires in them that are romance ones.

Which scene was your favorite?

I love when they all realize that Carlos is a panther. Its so funny.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

No I was listening to it at work so i had to do it in 2 days but you could do it in one day. You really don't want to stop listening to it once you started.

Best narration of the series so far

This series just keeps getting better and better as our beautiful, sexy vampires find their true loves and the family grows. This installment contained some delightful laugh-out-loud passages: 314 messages from women (and a couple of men!) who think Ian is HAWT after his profile goes up on an internet dating site, so funny. And, Ian gets an unexpected side effect from the stay-awake medicine, yum.

The writing gets better and better too, with just the perfect balance of madcap comedy, blooming romance, and violent peril. One of my favorite things about this series is the careful attention of the secondary characters. Even the children are endearing instead of annoying, a tricky feat to pull off. Dr. Fang? OHHH Yeah. This book introduces a new sidekick who is also completely charming...and the shapeshifters are finding a role too.

To make this listening experience perfect was the narration by Coleen Marlo. Not only does she have a lovely voice, but she reads prose and dialect with flawless rhythm, and delivers credible accents to the Scots, the Italian, the Russians, the Texan, and more. I wish she had been hired to narrate the entire series, it could have vastly improved a couple of the earlier installments. Thank you and great luck Coleen, you were born to read audiobooks.

Not so good at first but redeems itself in end.

I had difficulty getting into the characters at first. The characters and story line developed at a slow pace initially. The relationship between Tony and Ian developed immediately. But then I did start with book 5 of the series just because of the season. The book contained the right balance of action packed battle with the sultry sizzling steam of romance. And in the end I found I enjoyed the story more than I initially expected. Would buy more from this Author in future. Narration was fantastic.

One of my favorites so far!

This book was funny and the love story was hot. I liked learning more about Ian and listening to his attempt to find true love while at the same time dealing with his new body. I liked the narrator. She did a good Scottish accent which was important since Ian was the main vamp in this book.

LOVED IT

Great story with great characters. Really enjoyed this audio and always love catching up on the rest of the gang from the previous audible series, GREAT. Main characters are strong, fun, no-nonsense and fresh, no over the top rubbish. Such an enjoyable series. Narrator is good and clear. Loved it.

The best in the series to this point

Can I just say that I want THIS vampire for Christmas? I was so excited that this go around was the character Ian, who I was hoping would get his H.E.A. The online dating site stuff is really amusing, and I just really enjoyed the story. The narrator did a passable job, so I was happy about that. For sure, my favorite so far.
