About this listen

That hot guy tied to Lissianna Argeneau's bed? He's not dessert - he's the main course! Lissianna has been spending her centuries pining for Mr. Right, not just a quick snack, and this sexy guy she finds in her bed looks like he might be a candidate.

But there's another, more pressing issue: her tendency to faint at the sight of blood . . . an especially annoying quirk for a vampire. Of course it doesn't hurt that this man has a delicious-looking neck. What kind of cold-blooded vampire woman could resist a bite of that?

Dr. Gregory Hewitt recovers from the shock of waking up in a stranger's bedroom pretty quickly - once he sees a gorgeous woman about to treat him to a wild night of passion. But is it possible for the good doctor to find true love with a vampire vixen, or will he be just a good meal? That's a question Dr. Greg might be willing to sink his teeth into . . . if he can just get Lissianna to bite.

Not a fan of Victoria McGee

Would you listen to A Quick Bite again? Why?

I have read this series multiple times. But this audio book was a little hard to listen to

What did you like best about this story?

I love the entire world that sands created. I love this entire series

How could the performance have been better?

Her voices were weird. I heard way to much spit. I didn't love where she placed the pauses. It honestly sounded too robotic

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

I like the story so i guess???

Any additional comments?

Id honestly skip the audio book and read the real thing. You can get through it, but its not the best.

I love this series

This series is really good. It’s hard to keep a series consistent and keep it interesting, but Lynsay Sands does it. Each story is how a person finds his/her life mate. It starts off with a family, and moves on to relatives and friends. The stories don’t have to be read in order, but it’s better if you do.
This narrator is not perfect, but she does a very good job with different voices. Her “narrator” voice is too breathy but after a while I quit paying attention to it.
This is fairly light reading with a mystery or puzzle to solve. The sex is pretty explicit, so keep your headphones on.

Excellent storyline; but buy with caution

Would you try another book from Lynsay Sands and/or Victoria McGee?

Would definitely try another book from Lindsay Sands- the story was excellent. However, this is my first time listening to a voice performance from Victoria McGee and I have to say that I have second thoughts of purchasing another narration by her. I will be looking into getting other titles by Lindsay Sands; hopefully with a different narrator or in print form.

How could the performance have been better?

I have to say I was not impressed by the vocal performance. The entire audio book the tone was breathy (the best way I could describe it). You can hear her inhaling for her next sentence throughout the audio book and almost gushing into the microphone. Along with this problem there are random long pauses, not for dramatic effect but like the audio feed is cut out--and this is an unabridged title. A few times during the audio performance I heard audio inserts from a entirely different speaker. I haven't listened to other performances by McGee but I am hesitant to spend money (or even credits) just to have another performance like this one. Her out-of-breath- tone put me to sleep most nights and I ended up listening to this title during my workouts just to stay awake (usually listen while crocheting, cooking, and while driving).

A refreshing take on vampire lore and the plot as well as the love story is captivating.

Not Bad!

Good Reader! Story could be on Lifetime Channel! Main character often made you wonder how she survived 200 years!

Narrator is terrible....

Enjoy this series of books when I was younger and thought it would be fun to listen to them.
However, between the odd pauses and forced attempts at breathiness by the narrator, I will be returning.
I hope she didn't narrate the whole series.

I have read some of the later books and wanted to start this series from the beginning. It was good.

they weren't wrong

man...that was a hard listen. I almost thought of skipping this book because of the narrator.. But it's the first book in a series I'm hoping to love. I already paid for it. so I just sped her up a notch and dealt. glad it's over and I can move onto the next book.

Great Book

This is the best book in the series to date and I've listen to it 4 times already. The narrator dibn't bother me that bad, and she is a whole lot less annoying then some of the others in this series.
