About this listen

Losing people you love is hard.

Aurora De La Torre knows moving back to a place that was once home isn’t going to be easy. Starting your whole life over probably isn’t supposed to be.

But a small town in the mountains might be the perfect remedy for a broken heart. And checking out her landlord, across the driveway, just might cure it too.

Beautiful love story 🥰

After enduring a heart-wrenching ordeal, Aurora De La Torre finds solace in returning to the one place that has always felt like home. Little did she expect for this move to introduce her to a somewhat grumpy landlord whom she can't stop trying to befriend.

✨Thoughts✨

Delving into a Mariana Zapata novel is like receiving a warm, cozy hug that is impossible to resist. The romance in these novels gradually unfolds with each page turned, revealing layer upon layer of little details that contribute to the overall charm of the story.

The bond shared between Aurora and Tobias is undeniably heartwarming. Despite facing a life filled with hardships, it wouldn't be surprising if Aurora had become a cynic, isolating herself from the world. However, against all odds, she radiates sunshine, which makes her such an endearing character.

I want to take a minute to praise the dual narration by Callie Dalton and Gomez Pugh. They did an incredible job as usual.

Overall, if you are looking for an effortlessly beautiful love story and enjoy slow-burn romance, this is definitely a must-listen!

LOVED it ❤️

I love everything Mariana writes. Always funny and romantic. And when those romantic love bombs get dropped #swoon. I've read the book 2x. Callie and Gomez brought the characters to life just as I imagined it in my head.

Another MZ slow burn but slightly missed the mark

Another MZ slow burn. I'm a fan of her writing formula. Slow burn, strong silent male of few words with more of 'actions speak louder than words" vibe, and female with realistic struggles. I like to see the slow progression and not have the story focused around sex, dirty talk, mindless flirting, etc. This one delivered but missed slightly on the male. You don't get that same zing as you would have with Kulti or Wall of Winnipeg male character transition from broading a-hole to love. I still enjoyed the book, but not the same as some of her others. The male audio is the same from Luna and the Lie and I had a hard time getting the other character out of my head in the beginning. It grows on you as you read but very abrupt voice so I can see why some like it and some don't.

Great read .... ditch the male narrator

I enjoyed this story but the male reader is woeful. The rest of it is a solid story and a lot of fun and a different premise. I really enjot Mariana Zapata and think she's always a top pick. Callie Dalton covers a lot of sins for her counterpart.

Slow start, but loved it!

It took me a little bit to get into this story, but I did before too long. I'm not sure that I really understood the anger that both Rhodes and Aurora, him for his mother and her at her ex. I just think that neither was explained well enough for me to fully buy into them being that mad for that long. I guess I can understand her being upset based on what was shared, but it was over a year later and her hostility towards mother and son when they met with her seemed a but much, especially if she was already happily moving on with her life. I also which that we'd have never seen a resolution with Ora's mom, I felt it would have been more realistic. But I did love the feel of the story, loved the kids and side characters (though I feel like it was a missed opportunity with the musical plotline to not bring in Ghost Orchid), the setting in the Colorado mountains. And as always, I loved the narration on the audio book. I'm sad that I'm as the end of the MZ backlist, but excited to start them all over again, as her audios are one of my favorite to reread.

A MUST READ

I REALLY LOVED THIS BOOK!

What a fun start to Rhodes & Aurora's story. Amos, Rhodes's teenage son, decided to rent out their garage apartment behind his dad's back. His dad had repeatedly told him, "NO" when the idea was presented before. So, Amos waited until his dad was supposed to be away for a business trip to list the apartment. Unfortunately, for Amos, that trip fell through which left him explaining to his dad why there was a woman planning on living in his garage.

In a very minute way, this book had a similar feel, in regards to the family feel to it, with the book Wait For It. Which was another Ms. Zapata book that I loved a ton.

After reading this book I'm all caught up on Ms. Zapata's books! YAY!!

Another winner

This book is another fantastic read by Marianna Zapata. As good as The Wall of Winnipeg and Wait for it. Well worth the credit.
