About this listen

Interim sheriff Elizabeth "Bet" Rivers has always had one repeat nightmare: a shadowy figure throwing a suspicious object into her hometown lake in Collier, Washington. For the longest time, she chalked it up to an overactive imagination as a kid.

Then the report arrives. In the woods of the Cascade mountain range, right in her jurisdiction, a body floats to the surface of Lake Collier. When the body is extricated and revealed, no one can identify Jane Doe. But someone must know the woman, so why aren't they coming forward?

Such a good mystery. I couldn’t put it down. It kept me guessing the entire time as the plot got thicker and thicker.

I could not stop listening, it was so good!

A likable protagonist, interesting setting and fascinating plot. Well written and paced. Will be reading more from this author.
I thought the narrator did an excellent job of matching voice to character

Excellent Audiobook

All We Buried by Elena Taylor is everything you want in a cozy murder mystery...and more. Not only was there the central focused mystery (Who's the wrapped dead girl floating in the lake?), but numerous other mysteries become evident with each turned page. Step into Bet River's shoes and try to figure out all of them alongside Bet. And I realize most mystery novels have secondary mysteries and more. Still, this one was chock full of them, making your mind work overtime to see which mysteries related to the mysterious woman and which ones went to solve other secrets about the town. This one was a tough case to crack.

I rather enjoyed my time in Collier, a town that at a glance seems perfect in every way, but it has its deep dark secrets--as deep and dark as the lake where the wrapped girl is found. You get to know Bet and the ghosts from her past (and the town's past) as you ride with her and her dog, Schweitzer. The different town's characters are full of mysteries as well. High praise to Elena for her excellent writing and gift to spin a mystery. All We Buried is a satisfying page-turner that left me hoping for a second book soon.

If you can't get and read the book, download it and listen to it on Audible. A standing ovation shout out to Teri Schnaubelt-All We Buried's perfect narrator and voice. Bravo!

Classic Cozy Mystery

Although I’m a voracious reader, mysteries are rarely my cup of tea. However, All We Buried not only held my interest, I found it to be an utterly delightful, complex, and sophisticated book about a female, no-nonsense Sheriff by a no-nonsense, talented author. Even if you aren’t a mystery buff, you’ll love All We Buried.

Sophisticated, Well Written Mystery

Very enjoyable novel! The author does a terrific job of holding your attention throughout. Very well designed and structured. Everything character and scene related feels so close and personable, you can almost reach out and touch them. Additionally, sprinkled throughout the novel are lots of interesting tidbits of information that put a cherry on the top. Enjoy!

Great novel-holds you in. Great characters!

The science varied between questionable and flat wrong, from incorrect definitions of cirque and tarn to questionable juxtaposition of limestone and gold veins to an empty cave with an opening deep in the lake, the latter defying basic physics, did nothing to advance the story.

The author created so many red herrings that in the end she had to tie up a lot of loose ends in questioable knots. A lot of loose ends were just left hanging.

In the end I found myself generally disappointed. I read (listened to) this as part of a book club. I will be interested to see how others react.

Too much peripheral garbage

Too many people introduced; it became difficult to keep track of everyone. Several things seemed illogical, even contradictory. I really strained to stay tuned-in.

A difficult listen
