Publisher's summary
If you have ever found yourself in a situation where you are unable to tell if the animal in front of you is an alligator or a crocodile, then this is the audiobook for you! While alligators and crocodiles do look similar, there are several ways that you can tell them apart from each other.
While they do share many of the same features, to a trained professional, they actually couldn’t be any more different. For starters, crocodiles are typically more dangerous than alligators, because they are more aggressive. Alligators are opportunistic feeders, meaning that they are not very likely to chase you down, unless they are provoked.
Now, that certainly doesn’t mean that you should swim with either of these animals! There are some common sense and cautionary factors that should be exercised at all times, whether you are around either alligators or crocodiles.
Alligators and crocodiles have many different physical features that set them apart, at least, once you know what to be looking for. The jawline and snout shape are likely two of the easiest ways to distinguish between the two reptiles.
In this audiobook, we will dive into both alligators and crocodiles, in much greater detail. Not only will we look at exactly what alligators and crocodiles are, but we will also compare both their differences and similarities. There are two separate chapters on fun facts for both alligators and crocodiles. Lastly, there is a chapter covering the most famous alligators and crocodiles as mascots, and in film, animation, and comics.
There is truly something for everyone inside. Kids of all ages will find out just how much fun learning about animals can be!
Do you think you know all there is to know about alligators and crocodiles? Or are you curious about learning more? Don't wait; scroll up, and click "Buy" to get your copy today!

Called “the best of science writing” (Edward O. Wilson) and named a best book by Popular Science, a dive into the secret lives of whales, from their four-legged past to their perilous present. Whales are among the largest, most intelligent, deepest diving species to have ever lived on our planet. They evolved from land-roaming, dog-size creatures into animals that move like fish, breathe like us, can grow to 300,000 pounds, live 200 years, and travel entire ocean basins. Whales fill us with terror, awe, and affection - yet there is still so much we don't know about them.

Applying the research of paleontologists, ornithologists, biologists, engineers, and even art historians, Hanson asks: What are feathers? How did they evolve? What do they mean to us?

Birds, Jim Robbins posits, are our most vital connection to nature. They compel us to look to the skies, both literally and metaphorically, draw us out into nature to seek their beauty, and let us experience vicariously what it is like to be weightless. Birds have helped us in so many of our human endeavors: learning to fly, providing clothing and food, and helping us better understand the human brain and body.

Story
For millennia, lions, tigers, and their man-eating kin have kept our dark, scary forests dark and scary, and their predatory majesty has been the stuff of folklore. But by the year 2150 big predators may only exist on the other side of glass barriers and chain-link fences. Their gradual disappearance is changing the very nature of our existence. We no longer occupy an intermediate position on the food chain; instead we survey it invulnerably from above - so far above that we are in danger of forgetting that we even belong to an ecosystem.

Birds are highly intelligent animals, yet their intelligence is dramatically different from our own and has been little understood. As we learn more about the secrets of bird life, we are unlocking fascinating insights into memory, relationships, game theory, and the nature of intelligence itself. The Thing with Feathers explores the astonishing homing abilities of pigeons, the good deeds of fairy-wrens, the influential flocking abilities of starlings, the deft artistry of bowerbirds, the extraordinary memories of nutcrackers, and other mysteries.

Story
Some people insist that culture is strictly a human feat. What are they afraid of? This book looks into three cultures of other-than-human beings in some of Earth's remaining wild places. It shows how if you're a sperm whale, a scarlet macaw, or a chimpanzee, you too experience your life with the understanding that you are an individual in a particular community. You too are who you are not by genes alone; your culture is a second form of inheritance. And your culture, too, changes and evolves.

Story
Forget the Kama Sutra. When it comes to inventive sex acts, just look to the sea. There we find the elaborate mating rituals of armored lobsters; giant right whales engaging in a lively threesome while holding their breath; full-moon sex parties of groupers; and daily mating blitzes by blueheaded wrasse. Deep-sea squid perform inverted 69s while hermaphrodite sea slugs link up in giant sex loops.

Story
Feathers are an evolutionary marvel: Aerodynamic, insulating, beguiling. They date back more than 100 million years. Yet their story has never been fully told. In Feathers, biologist Thor Hanson details a sweeping natural history, as feathers have been used to fly, protect, attract, and adorn through time and place. Applying the research of paleontologists, ornithologists, biologists, engineers, and even art historians, Hanson asks: What are feathers? How did they evolve? What do they mean to us?

Story
The bald eagle is regal but fearless, a bird you’re not inclined to argue with. For centuries, Americans have celebrated it as “majestic” and “noble,” yet savaged the living bird behind their national symbol as a malicious predator of livestock and, falsely, a snatcher of babies.
