Publisher's summary

An Irish Country Yuletide is a charming Christmas entry in Patrick Taylor's beloved internationally best-selling Irish Country series.

December 1965. ‘Tis the season once again in the cozy Irish village of Ballybucklebo, which means that Doctor Fingal Flahertie O’Reilly, his young colleague Barry Laverty, and their assorted friends, neighbors, and patients are enjoying all their favorite holiday traditions: caroling, trimming the tree, finding the perfects gifts for their near and dear ones, and anticipating a proper Yuletide feast complete with roast turkey and chestnut stuffing. There’s even the promise of snow in the air, raising the prospect of a white Christmas.

Not that trouble has entirely taken a holiday as the season brings its fair share of challenges as well, including a black-sheep brother hoping to reconcile with his estranged family before it’s too late, a worrisome outbreak of chickenpox, and a sick little girl whose faith in Christmas is in danger of being crushed in the worst way.

As roaring fireplaces combat the brisk December chill, it’s up to O’Reilly to play Santa, both literally and figuratively, to make sure that Ballybucklebo has a Christmas it will never forget!

Bonus: This heartwarming Yuletide tale also includes several mouthwatering recipes, straight from an Irish country kitchen.

The delightfully human people with truly human problems.

I really enjoy this series of books by Dr. Patrick Taylor. The people of this village become friends.

Short but sweet

I had heard that this will be the last book in this series. I loved it but am sad to see it end if that is true. This book did not have a huge storyline but brought together all of the favorites and is set in an earlier time shortly after Fingal and kitty were married . Although less strong themes than the other books I loved it and hope what I heard to not be so

More, please, Sir!?

I finished every minute of every recording of any book on Audible about Dr. O'Reilly! Serve up more and I will devour it, too. Wonderful, rich, delightful stories. Thank you Patrick Taylor and John Keating.

A Heart-warming Holiday Tale

This book was much shorter than most of the Irish Country series, which was a little disappointing. It takes place six months after Fingal and Kitty were married, and has all the familiar characters along with a few new ones. This was about family, both the one we a born into and the one we choose, and we see more than one family who need the help of Dr. O'Reilly and crew to heal. This book will warm your heart!

Wonderful to Revisit Holidays of 1965! 🎄

Shan’t say much more so as not to spoil the interweavings of Ballybucklebo during the winter Holidays and that it was enjoyable to revisit 🤓💭

In a good place

This summer I completed all of the books in the series except for this one. I made the decision to save this one for the holiday season as a gift to myself. It was truly a gift to me, as all the books in the series have been. Thank you to Patrick Taylor for enriching our lives with this series, and to John Keating for bringing the characters to life with his talented reading.

Merry Christmas

I was so excited to see this book come out. This is one of my favorite series in the world, and I come back to it often. The Christmas stories are always so rich. I love this series, and I love these side novelas that give us insight into what happens in the world of O’Reilly and Company in addition to what we learn in the larger bucks. I love the Irish Magic of the series. Mrs. Kincaid brings a bit of magic into them, which I appreciate. I can wish the doctors themselves were devout Christians, and I think he’s working on it and praying on it on their behalf. Happy fall, and it’s way too early, but merry Christmas!

Recommend for rainy weekend read.

Loved the storyline. The story does come to life, the characters are like old friends. Narrator caught each character exactly how I saw them.

Great as always, but shorter than expected

As always, Patrick Taylor has given us a wonderful tale and John Keating a wonderful narration. However, I was disappointed that this is a shorter than usual Irish country story. It is a Christmas story and goes back to 1965 without Moving the tale of the residents of Ballybucklebo forward.
