After moving away for college, Sage Worthington settles down to a job in the city and only comes back to her parents' ranch for weekends and holidays. After receiving a call that will change her life forever, she rushes back to the place she always thought of as home and to the two little siblings whom she loves dearly. This is where she is needed, and this is where she wants to be.
Clifton Welsh was raised by his grandparents who have retired to a smaller house built for them on their favorite patch of the family land, close enough that they can keep an eye on their pride and joy. Grandpa turned the ranch over to Cliff to run but that doesn't mean his feisty grandma trusts him to run his own love life. The rancher has been Sage's next door neighbor for as long as he can remember. Cliff remembers Sage as a pesky teenager who needed a good spanking. Now that she's back, he sees her as a beautiful 24-year-old who still needs a good spanking.
Sage needs a husband and she needs him fast, before she loses custody of her younger brother and sister. Cliff is determined to use any means necessary to stop her from doing something rash and dangerous. He is even willing to marry her himself - but is Sage ready to commit to an old-fashioned man who spanks?

So sweet.

The plot is pretty basic. Selfish girl is scared straight by sudden death of parents.
The main female character continues to be horrible, which appears to be a simplistic way to justify writing about the male character repeatedly spanking her. It's quite repetitive.
I didn't really connect with the story or characters.
I like the narrator, though.
Repetitive

While I thought that the narrator did a good job of giving each character a voice, he could have done better with showing emotions. It was a little too monotone.
Good, but could have been better

What could have made this a 4 or 5-star listening experience for you?
Sage, the lead female character, sat stomping her feet throughout the book! After a few hours it got totally redundant and frustrating.Has An Unexpected Wife turned you off from other books in this genre?
I don't believe I could trust these fly by night authors. I'll stick to a book with some time to build characters and those that think repeating the same horrid actions by a character is the only way to make her 'stress' obvious. What three words best describe Donovan Kane’s voice?
Perfect for the part! He really flexed out each character so they all sounded different! You didn’t love this book... but did it have any redeeming qualities?
The narrator definitely was the best part of this book.Any additional comments?
Sorry I didn't like this book. I did try!Boring and monotonous
