The Chinese created an amazing society that grew from along the banks of the Yellow River to oceans and lands beyond. • How a yellow dragon and black turtle saved the day
  • Tang - breakfast drink or first emperor of the Shang Dynasty?
  • Riddles, riddles, and more riddles!
  • Smelting and the birth of the Bronze Age - along a riverbank!
  • Beer for breakfast?
  • Oracle bones and turtle shells equals…writing?

  • And then came the empress…
  • The Han Dynasty’s many secrets
  • Chinese Zodiac calendar - which animal are you?

Just the right amount of facts mixed with fun

This book does a great job of bringing the history of Ancient China to life for kids. The information is told in an age appropriate way, and has fun trivia questions for kids to answer.

not bad for a kids book

aside from the bad jokes (it's a kids book, so I get it), this was pretty good and informative. there was stuff about the Great Wall n Terra Cotta army that I didn't know about.

narrator Jay Herbert did a pretty good job, minus a few questionable pronunciations. he is much improved
