Publisher's summary

Eons before the birth of the Roman Empire, there was a civilization dedicated to the sciences of Earth, sea, and sky. In the City of Light lived people who made dark plans to lay waste to their uncivilized neighbors using the very power of the planet itself. As the great science of their time was brought to bear on the invading hordes, hell was set loose on Earth. And the civilization of Atlantis disappeared in a suicidal storm of fire and water.…

Now history threatens to repeat itself. The great weapon of the Ancients has been discovered in the South Pacific, and it is being deciphered by men of hatred who want to unleash hell on Earth once again. This time, it’s up to the Major Jack Collins and the Event Group - comprised of the nation’s most brilliant minds in the fields of science, philosophy, and the military to find the truth behind the world’s greatest unsolved myths - to end the cycle of destruction. Meanwhile, the seas rise, the earth cracks, and entire cities crumble to dust as the evil plan mapped out thousands of years before begins to take shape.…

Best Event Group yet ...!

Kept you wanting to hear the next line. I would come home and listen until I had to get up and continue on with my daily life. You know it's good when you are sorry it's over😓

the event group...a fun group to follow.

Any additional comments?

The event group series is a great serial which at times requires you to suspend reality...but that is part of fiction.

Syfy and mythology

Other than maybe having too much detailing in some action sequences, this is a good retelling of one of our oldest and most favorite myths. its tying together of the original stories of Atlantis with science and imagination was most enjoyable.

Another action-pack thriller!

Mix a little Tom Clancey 'Sum of all Fears', Neil Gaiman 'American Gods' and earth-shattering terror and destruction along with David L. Golemon's literary magic sauce and you get a story that is not only fantastical but bone-chilling frightening. The only thing missing were politicians, religious leaders, UN panels and well-financed government scientists prognosticating that the 'events' were conclusively related to climate change.

The story arc was well crafted and the characters were all made interesting with sufficient and judicious backstories.

Richard Poe continues his excellent narrating performance, making for an even more enjoyable listening experience.

Atlantis Rises..And instantly regrets it

Any additional comments?

I think this has been my favorite Event Group book so far. From the depiction of how Atlantis originally fell and the world's transformation, to the battle between the Group and the Juliai Coalition ((Spelling?)) I really enjoyed the story. I only had a couple issues with the book. The big one was that, although the Characters are well written, there's no growth. All the main characters are the same as they have been since book one. Hopefully we'll see some movement on this in the later books. Aside from the few problems, I enjoyed that "The Frenchman" isn't the main obstacle for the Group. Especially with that abrupt, and ((in my opinion)) anticlimactic death of his wife, that I'm sure is going to affect his character in the future but I liked that we're not going straight into it. Having essentially the same one bad guy, even one as capable as Farboe, throughout the entire series would have been a little repetitive. Finally....That ending man...Where's book Four?
